I know some people can't help it, I get that.

BUT I've just seen a photo on FB of a Mum & daughter and someone has comment 'so pressures' - I am assuming they mean precious!!

Any other classics you've seen?

@kittypop that’s amazing! Grin🤣

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 03/11/2018 10:44

Carnt for can't
His instead of he's and vice versa
Discusting
Congradulations
The smorning
Rediculous

There's a bus company in Surrey called Buses Excetera. Makes me want to howl with rage every time I see one.

19lottie82 · 03/11/2018 10:48

Loser / looser
Bought / brought
Debt / dept

And maybe I’m naive but I am always shocked at the amount of people posting on social media who don’t know the difference between they’re / there / their and your / you’re

19lottie82 · 03/11/2018 10:53

I have a few friends in relatively high, professional positions, both in their mid 40s and they don’t know the difference between lose and loose. The mind boggles!

angieloumc · 03/11/2018 11:04

All of the above irritate me. A pharmacy near me has a sign outside that says 'Back to Independance' instead of independence. It annoys me every time I see it. How does a sign writer not know how to spell it?

NeverTrustASmilingCat · 03/11/2018 11:08

Bare in mind

DontCallMeCharlotte · 03/11/2018 11:19

On the conception board, I always see "I think there's a feint line"

You mean "faint"

Agreed. But you can see where it comes from.

There’s a shop near me called (something like) Freddies Toys. All their advertising/Facebook and signs are missing the apostrophe. I can’t shop there.

SilentIsla · 03/11/2018 11:50

Definately.

hellraising · 03/11/2018 11:55

Wrong use of apostrophes
Would of instead of would have
Loose instead of lose
'Hung himself' instead of 'hanged himself'
Grammer instead of grammar

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 03/11/2018 11:58

I had to remove a woman off my Facebook as she continually wrote her babies were a sleep. Drove me mad.

I'm also friends with someone who puts 'haw' and 'naw' and 'tawn' instead of how, now and town. That also drives me nuts

SmellySphinx · 03/11/2018 11:58

This.

'Defiantly instead of definitely and aloud instead of allowed

Wrong use of their, there, they're too

SureIusedtobetaller · 03/11/2018 12:00

I’ve seen this a lot recently: then instead of than.

Apostrophes for plurals make me sad and angry Grin

throughtheeyeofaneedle · 03/11/2018 12:16

'We was' instead of 'we were' really gets my goat. Same as 'we done' instead of 'we did'.

QueenOfMyWorld · 03/11/2018 12:19

Gorjus

rosettesforjill · 03/11/2018 12:20

Fecking "YAY or nay"

I feel a little rush of anger whenever I see it!

Perfectpeony · 03/11/2018 12:34

My Mum-

Hia you watching Strickly tonight?

Whereismumhiding2 · 03/11/2018 12:37

In the lab at work there is a stationary cupboard. As yet they haven't twigged why every time I walk by I ask if it has moved or not!
GrinGrin

I've found my people.. this is a fab thread!

All those mispellings annoy me and I try to forget them & walk away quickly before I just have to correct!

But I have a rather sweet one as an e.g.... ( It's from my lovely friend who's dyslexic and has trouble with phrases)
She says "he's mummycuddled" for mollycoddled. 😍 It makes me smile rather than anything else.

ItWasntMeItWasIm · 03/11/2018 12:48

I don't like it when myself/yourself is used incorrectly. People seem to think it is a more formal version of me/you.

amymoom · 03/11/2018 13:02

And for the worst - My Dh and me were.. DS and me - instead of Dh and I, DS and I etc .....drives me nuts. Take the other person out of the sentence folks, and see if using me on its own makes sense e.g Me were - not hard.

I confess I've often made this mistake but you've just simplified it for me! Thank you! @CommanderDaisy

The classic there/their/they're and wear/where/we're always frustrates me! I don't understand how people still get this wrong.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/11/2018 13:03

In the throws of passion/death.

I very much doubt that people are also likely to be participating in a session of darts or hoop-la at the same time as undergoing either of those experiences.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/11/2018 13:04

This one will be controversial, but: 'Halloween' instead of 'Hallowe'en'

Maybe I'm just old-fashioned and square, though - I still use an apostrophe before writing/typing the word 'phone or 'bus.

Powerless · 03/11/2018 13:04

He's instead of His and vice versa.

Brought when meaning bought

^ These two wind me RIGHT up!
