Delivery driver just had a dump at my house!

AIBU? I've just had some furniture delivered and the first thing the guy said was, 'Can I use your loo?' I didn't want him to but felt that I couldn't refuse so I reluctantly said yes. He was in there for ages. He's had a smelly dump. It fucking stinks. I could have cried. He then bought the furniture in and I've just had to go and clean the toilet. I'm disgusted.

the first thing the guy said was, 'Can I use your loo?' I didn't want him to but felt that I couldn't refuse so I reluctantly said yes

But why did you not want him to use your toilet? It really really baffles me coming across people who are so bloody precious about their toilets!

Ollivander84 · 02/11/2018 14:31

He needed the toilet. Every poo smells
I change people who are incontinent with less fuss than you've made over him using the toilet in a perfectly normal way

QuestionableMouse · 02/11/2018 14:31

Oh for fucks sake. Some of you clearly have no idea what it's like to be a delivery driver. My BIL worked for Amazon and ended up weeing in bottles because he was delivering in areas with no public loos. It's a fucking grim job where you can't win.

Light a sodding candle and get on with your day.

Miscible · 02/11/2018 14:32

IME of living with DH and two adult sons, skidmarks usually disappear with the next flush.

ReadMyLipss · 02/11/2018 14:32

She just didn't like having to clean up afterwards and the stink that was left behind

That's not true. She didn't want him to use it in the first place! That's being way too precious about a toilet.

Dorsetdays · 02/11/2018 14:32

Miscible. My point is that the OP clearly didn’t want them to use it because she said as much in her post, she agreed ‘reluctantly’ and I assume she expected they would just go for a wee, not stink her house out.

Therefore the OP is within her rights to be upset/annoyed about it and to refuse in future.

Youshallnotpass · 02/11/2018 14:33

You don’t know what diseases strangers might have. I never sit on public toilets for that exact reason.

Oh FFS..

Oirobnooo · 02/11/2018 14:37

Okay, getting way too invested in this, but I ask again: assuming this is a residential area with no public loos and assuming his need may have been pressing- not everyone has Greenwich setting the time by our bowel movements so regular are they, I am looking at you Mr Oirobnoo- WHAT WAS HIS ALTERNATIVE????

MyBrexitIsIll · 02/11/2018 14:37

WitsEnd seriously, if having a strange man having a shit in your toilet is so much of an issue to you, I think yu u should maybe check with your GP.
The level of cleaning, the bleach, feeling yu have to wash your hands p, towels etc..l because everything is now ‘dirty’ isn’t normal. You seem to be very anxious.

tiggerkid · 02/11/2018 14:37

That's not true. She didn't want him to use it in the first place!

No, she didn't want him to use her toilet but she let him anyway! And that shows that she is a nice woman in the end because she put her personal preferences aside and allowed the driver to do what he had to do. It doesn't mean she has to be ok with his stink or having to clean up afterwards.

9ofpentangles · 02/11/2018 14:37

I'm with you on the yuck factor, op, but, like you, I couldn't really refuse either

ileclerc · 02/11/2018 14:38

Would you rather he shat on your drive or doorstep? 'Man shits in toilet' not exactly breaking news.

DameDoom · 02/11/2018 14:39

It would have been the ideal opportunity to demonstrate the efficacy of Aesop post poo drops. I have no fear of delivery drivers who need a poo but no one has come knocking.

universe00 · 02/11/2018 14:39

Do you not have a toilet brush at hand ?
Do you not have air freshener ?
I have a bottle of bleach, toilet cleaner, air freshener and a toilet brush next to the toilet so Incase anyone happens to have a poo in the toilet that it won't smell.
Invest in air freshener

9ofpentangles · 02/11/2018 14:39

Yeah Grin

MyBrexitIsIll · 02/11/2018 14:40

It doesn't mean she has to be ok with his stink or having to clean up afterwards.
He couldn’t do anything about the stink and couldn’t have cleaned the loo as there was no toilet brush there.
Were you also expecting him to put his hand on the loo to clean it maybe?

universe00 · 02/11/2018 14:40

Put the toilet brush in the toilet brush holder and put bleach in the holder. Job done

borderline11 · 02/11/2018 14:41

Unless someone has a medical issue i can’t understand how people have to poo immediately at the first sign of an urge, regardless of where they are. Surely it can be held in, but if not how bloody rude not to clean the loo before you leave it. I bet he’s one of those men who think cleaning toilets is women’s work. Hmm

beeefcreep · 02/11/2018 14:42

Using the toilet to defecate = not an issue

Leaving it in a mess is fucking disgusting and inexcusable

PortiaCastis · 02/11/2018 14:44

Our family has holiday lets and the filth that gets left behind in those is disgusting so a poo stink isn't going to make me bat an eyelid in comparison to a pissed on settee and a used condom in a bed for example

universe00 · 02/11/2018 14:44

@beeefcreep OP doesn't have a toilet brush how was he meant to clean it ?
Most people who don't like dirty toilets have a toilet brush and cleaning products at hand.

TokyoSushi · 02/11/2018 14:44

Oirobnooo · 02/11/2018 14:44

Surely it can be held in,

Oh bless your heart, and your obedient bowels. If only!!!!!

But as so many PPs have said...what was he supposed to clean it with??

Miscible · 02/11/2018 14:45

My point is that the OP clearly didn’t want them to use it because she said as much in her post, she agreed ‘reluctantly’ and I assume she expected they would just go for a wee, not stink her house out

If you agree to let someone use your loo, Dorsetdays, then unless you specifically state that they mustn't poo in it you have agreed to them using it for its normal purpose. Sure, you're allowed to be annoyed or upset, in the same way as anyone is allowed to do anything irrational, it doesn't mean that the person concerned is at fault.

DameDoom · 02/11/2018 14:45

He could have wrapped some loo paper round his hand to wipe up the skiddy.
