To be freaked out by friends weird behaviour?

Have name changed as circumstances quite specific!

Basically I went out for a drink with a group of friends. I said I needed toilet and one of the friends said they did too so came with me. I had a wee, washed my hands and went to dry them. She did all this at approx same time. I finished drying my hands and looked at her, she just smiled and carried on drying her hands. I thought fair enough and told her I’d see her back in bar.

10 minutes later we notice she still hasn’t come back and we’re talking about moving on. I go to see if she’s still in and she’s still stood in same position drying her hands!! I tell her we’re thinking of moving on soon so she says “ok” and still stands there with her hands under dryer.

I go back to group and tell them friend A is still drying hands. We have a bit of a laugh over it and then talk about something else. 10 minutes later we’re all done with drinks and ready to move on. Friend B says she needs toilet so will tell friend A to get a move on at same time. Bare in mind she’s been in there over 20 minutes now drying her hands.

10 minutes later neither friend have returned. Getting a bit impatient now I go in to tell them we’re moving on to see them BOTH stood there drying their hands!!! Not talking or anything, just stood in silence with their hands under the dryer! We left without them in the end. Have spoken since and they’re both pissed off that we left without them.
Other friends thought it was beyond weird at the time but I can’t get over it! It was so bloody weird.

Am I over reacting??

Clever ploy to get out of buying a round?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/11/2018 12:55

Sounds like a Hallowe'en prank to me.

Stillme1 · 01/11/2018 12:57

Watched the video. Why would anyone want to do that to themselves?

TeaLeafaeLaeT · 01/11/2018 12:57

Were you all under the influence of alcohol?

Alexandra2018 · 01/11/2018 13:03

Doing coke is my guess too waiting for you to leave

Jux · 01/11/2018 13:10

Probably coke.

DadDadDad · 01/11/2018 13:11

Maybe she had stolen someone's scented candle that had been wrapped as a birthday present, and a bit like Lady Macbeth, her guilt made her think she couldn't remove the smell from her hands. Grin

Spotsandstars · 01/11/2018 13:16

I wouldn't hang out with them again until they tell you the truth. That's beyond odd and there can be no reason not to tell you what's going on unless dodgy and I wouldn't want friends like that....unless it was a preplanned wind out which turned out not to be very funny!

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 01/11/2018 13:21

DadDadDad, you literally made me laugh out loud at that Grin

LoniceraJaponica · 01/11/2018 13:22

I thought drugs as well.

NameChanger22 · 01/11/2018 13:26

Was it one of those super fast powerful dryers? I can stand watching my skin ripple for ages with one of those.

RangeRider · 01/11/2018 13:26

Dad Grin

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 01/11/2018 13:29

OooEeeOoo the veil was very thin last night. Perhaps the dryers were a portal to the nether world? I’m sure the undead have very cold hands and would appreciate an hour under dryer... that or drugs. Probably drugs.

Maelstrop · 01/11/2018 13:36

Different time zones? Time slip?

user1469485133 · 01/11/2018 13:37

At first I thought, obviously, it was OCD! But having said that two of them did it....were they plotting together, to get out of moving onto another put with the group? Maybe they'd had pre drink discussion and planned a get out clause in advance?
Drugs though, yeah...coke, speed?

Fashionista101 · 01/11/2018 13:38

I'm laughing my head off reading this. I have no idea why I find this so funny!

But probably on Coke

xmascrazee · 01/11/2018 13:38

Sounds like you were captured by aliens for 40 minutes Wink

Petalflowers · 01/11/2018 13:47

OCD was my first thought.

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 01/11/2018 13:49

Maybe it wasn't a dryer but an orgasmatron... Grin

MissionItsPossible · 01/11/2018 13:51

If it was Spice they wouldn’t be able to stand up for that long

MissionItsPossible · 01/11/2018 13:52

And if it was coke they’d be chatting their heads off, not staring into a mirror silently

silkpyjamasallday · 01/11/2018 13:57

Could they have taken something like LSD? Doesn't sound like coke, but very very weird.

mmgirish · 01/11/2018 13:57

drugs

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 01/11/2018 14:01

Was it a Dyson?

lovetherisingsun · 01/11/2018 14:04

She's tripping out.
