So the thread was started as a joke?

To make us laugh?

I am splitting my sides here.

A580Hojas · 31/10/2018 19:01

I feel smug about not being obsessed by Christmas. Will that do? Halloween Grin.

Flower777 · 31/10/2018 19:03

Wtf. I haven’t even thought about Christmas.

expatmigrant · 31/10/2018 19:07

I'm looking forward to going shopping in London in December when it is nice and cold and all the Christmas lights are up. I know the streets will be packed with people but I like all that. Lots of excuses to stop for a little mulled wine on the way here and there.
Wont be wrapping until the Christmas Tree is up.

kaytee87 · 31/10/2018 19:12

Aw I'd hate to be all finished in October! I love to put some Christmas music on and sit and wrap presents much closer to Christmas!

Kemer2018 · 31/10/2018 19:15

I used to be done by September. But then i realised i wanted my money in my bank account until nearer the time.
So i aim for end Nov early December and get most delivered.

Ohyesiam · 31/10/2018 19:16

It’s October . What’s wrong with you?

IdahoCrow · 31/10/2018 19:20

Oh it's the end of pier show. Here all week. Whether we like it or not.

saveforthat · 31/10/2018 19:26

YABU You have sucked all the joy out of Christmas

Celebelly · 31/10/2018 19:32

YABU! Wrapping presents is a festive rite of passage, to be done with Christmas music on and mulled apple juice. Then presents can go straight under the tree!

possumgoddess · 31/10/2018 19:59

I'm well on my way to finishing. 😁 I love Christmas and like to be well-prepared, plus one of my children is coming to stay in a couple of weeks and will need to take her family's presents back with her as we won't be seeing them over Christmas. I think I know what I'm getting for my DH but will wait for Black Friday to buy it as its a bit expensive. I find it so much easier to enjoy it everything is prepared in advance.

TheWiseWomansFear · 31/10/2018 20:10

Agree with @Fridaydreamer I only have DPs gift left to buy preens and one small thing for dad.

I will not wrap until December (usually around the 6th, with Rudolph/the grinch/Love actually on, a baileys (or 3) and some ginger biscuits... bliss.

TheWiseWomansFear · 31/10/2018 20:12

Although I'm only finished so early because I shop tactically to save money

notsurewhatshappening · 31/10/2018 20:14

Genuine question : where will you keep them until the big day??

HeronLanyon · 31/10/2018 20:16

Well done if a little alarming. I
actually considered wrapping some this coming weekend. Then I wondered how I would remember what was what (several similar size/shape for same person etc). Then I considered eating one present (came very close to it). Then I put them all away. Perhaps I should wrap the tempting edible (large) present. Or would that just mean I would have to buy (imported specially) and wrap all over again? Quandaries.

spanishwife · 31/10/2018 20:22

Agree with the others that you've peaked too soon... You've played yourself OP

Cagliostro · 31/10/2018 20:25

Present buying and wrapping is part of Christmas for me same

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 31/10/2018 20:29

I remember vividly

Ds1 was nearly 4, it was the night before Christmas eve

I was tucking him up in bed...lovingly...and i said 'are you looking forward to Christmas baby, have you been a good boy'

And he looked at me ...lovingly....and sadi 'yes mummy, and i really really hope i get the thing I really want from santa'

And i said to him ....comfortable in the knowledge that i have bought, wrapped and tucked away everything on his little list....'so whats that then baby'

And he said ' a micropet'

And i was like WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS A MICROPET

Managed to hold it together til i left the room Grin

So i never rest on my laurels Grin

HairyToity · 31/10/2018 20:35

Bought daughters present and one godson. Just got our other child to buy for, best friends daughter, parents, inlaws, 2 nieces and a nephew.

Think it'll cost about £200 on top of what we've spent. Waiting for the next pay cheque. Lucking Christmas day will be at inlaws so don't have the big food shop.

EyUpOurKid · 31/10/2018 20:56

I usually like to be done and wrapped by the end of November. This year we've just moved house and had nowhere to store anything so there's only DS who's finished, (not wrapped though)

It's going to be a slim Christmas for everyone else anyway because I want to spend money on furniture and fripperies Grin

SilentIsla · 31/10/2018 20:59

Good grief.

SilentIsla · 31/10/2018 21:01

It’s much nicer to do it when everything is cheerful and there is hustle and bustle.
Where Is the cheer in your way of doing things?Confused

Deadringer · 31/10/2018 22:23

Seems appropriate for this thread

To feel rather smug I’ve just finished and wrapped all my Christmas presents
BigSandyBalls2015 · 31/10/2018 22:33

It wouldn't be Christmas without a half pissed row with DH late on Christmas Eve whilst trying to assemble a football table/basketball net/equally complicated new toy with a thousand parts 😂
