To feel rather smug I’ve just finished and wrapped all my Christmas presents

It's is definitely everyone's choice, but wrapping is definitely part of the build up to Christmas for me. I would hate to have it all done in October. Christmas music or a film on, mince pies etc. one of the best bits!

Oblomov18 · 31/10/2018 18:24

Before Halloween? 🎃
Why?
OTT

UrsulaPandress · 31/10/2018 18:24

Present buying and wrapping is part of Christmas for me. Nothing done until after 1st Dec.

I am totally jealous that you have had the time and the cash to do this.

Do you do a monthly savings or something? I'm worrying about being able to afford presents in December, nevermind two months ahead.

useruseruseruseruseruseruser · 31/10/2018 18:25

Well done, OP!

I still have stuff to send abroad before I get to think about my UK prezzies. Must get skates on!!!!!

InspectorIkmen · 31/10/2018 18:27

Another one with shagged. Can anyone tell my WHY these Christmas threads are not confined to the Christmas topic?

speakout · 31/10/2018 18:28

Op you say you feel "smug" and that everyone must be jealous.

It's clear that's not the case.

Many of us don't want to be wrapping in october.
A lot of us ENJOY wrapping near christmas.

Loopytiles · 31/10/2018 18:30

Not enough info for peak smugness.

Eg many adults and DC were you buying for; and are any of the gifts exchangeable until after Christmas?

useruseruseruseruseruseruser · 31/10/2018 18:31

I like to get it all bought before December, if possible. I don't always make it though. Nice to have the odd thing to wrap later on, but I find I enjoy Christmas more if I eliminate as much as I can in advance and presents are the easiest thing to sort early doors. I can't do the Christmas dinner early, hahaha.

LizzieSiddal · 31/10/2018 18:33

Where’s the OP gone?
I bet she’s off buying Easter Eggs for 2019😂

A580Hojas · 31/10/2018 18:33

Yabu. Live in the moment.

Deadringer · 31/10/2018 18:33

what speakout said ^^

NotANotMan · 31/10/2018 18:34

Feel smug if you want but I enjoy Christmas shopping and wrapping, and find them a fun part of Christmas prep. I'd hate to do it all now.

IdahoCrow · 31/10/2018 18:34

Reasons I wouldn't do this:

  1. Are the receipts valid for exchange this far in advance?
  1. No idea what DC would like, and I'm not asking in October.
  1. Nowhere to put it - in December it can go under the tree.
  1. No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
Deadringer · 31/10/2018 18:36

I love christmas, but I love it in december. couldn't be arsed with it right now.

LardLizard · 31/10/2018 18:38

Only kidding !! Course I haven’t !!

OP posts:
Sallystyle · 31/10/2018 18:38

I haven't even bought anything.

If I had I would not wrap them in October. I like wrapping near Xmas to help me get into the Xmas spirit. I would hate to do it now.

BooEekCackle · 31/10/2018 18:38

No, I feel sad for you.

I am pretty organised. I have done one small Christmas blast buying a few presents online and making a couple of cakes. I'll do a shopping day in Nov and one in Dec for last minute.

Christmas fun for me starts 01 Dec with trees up, baking and cracking open one of my many bottles of Bailey's. Wrapping as and when. The whole of Dec is to be enjoyed. You have peaked too soon my friend.

ForalltheSaints · 31/10/2018 18:39

The OP can feel smug but most of us can feel smug for trying to enjoy Autumn instead.

speakout · 31/10/2018 18:39

Not sure what the point of this thread is.

useruseruseruseruseruseruser · 31/10/2018 18:39

I enjoy all of December. I do something lovely and Christmassy every day, but shopping (which I don't like at the best of times) is not included in that.

UrsulaPandress · 31/10/2018 18:45

Weirdo.

InspectorIkmen · 31/10/2018 18:58

Not sure what the point of this thread is

Clearly there isn't one as the OP now claims that she's 'only joking'.
Fuck me but there's some seriously brainless posting on MN tonight.

mimibunz · 31/10/2018 19:00

I’ve done some shopping but like other PPs I love to play Christmas music, pour myself a Baileys and wrap gifts. A lovely, atmospheric evening!
