Have the most insane (PMT-fuelled) craving for takeaway. Specifically the absolutely amazing Chinese takeaway near my DP's house, 6 miles away.

WIBU to drive there just to get takeaway?

The only thing putting me off at the moment is the fact that I don't have a microwave to reheat it if it goes cold on the journey home 🤔.

DO IT!

Perfectly normal behaviour in the countryside. We used to meet the pizza delivery man in a hotel car park which was the edge of their delivery area.

Go for it.

1) why aren't you living with him, 2) why hasn't he given you keys to his house?

  1. wtf has it got to do with you?
  2. again wtf has it do with you?

If you'd read op updates she says they're in the honeymoon period so newly dating.

But that again is FUCK ALL to do with you.

6 miles is relative to the road situation, my parents would but it's rural, I have 5 or 6 on my street.

I am late to this thread and your takeaway is probably long eaten by now, but we used to live 6 miles away from our nearest takeaway, had to drive another couple of minutes for a better one. We always used an insulated bag for our takeaways, being 6 of us it used to get packed in tightly and keep itself warm anyway. Just put the prawn crackers on top so they didn't get warm and soggy.

Where we lived before that, and before we had a car, we used to walk to a brilliant Chinese takeaway, going past others on the way. Used to take nearly as long as driving to the other one but was well worth it, food never got cold from there (before I came up with the idea of the bag).

But wrapping it with foil and packing it into a bag with blankets etc. will work well too.

Get me some duck with pancakes while you’re there if you don’t mind.

You've got to drive 6 miles to get anything tasty near us! Go forth and chow mein.

bsbabas · 21/10/2018 19:21

One of those lined lunchbags will keep it warm

MaxTeyon · 21/10/2018 19:45

It’s only a 10 min drive so YANBU

32 mile round trip to our nearest Chinese/Indian/Chippie.
We use a hard shell cool box (minus freezer packs!) and it's still too hot to eat when it gets home.
