Is this rude or just crazy

The kids had a sleepover at Gran's Monday night. DD just told me that the first thing Mil does when I leave them for a sleepover is to strip them, put them in new clothes and wash everything they were wearing and the entire contents of their overnight bag.
I asked when did she start doing that? Did replied that she has always done it but she only realised it was weird this week. What the fuck?

Mate's MIL used to do this as well as having a complete change of everything for Mate's DD when she regularly stayed there: frilly nighties instead of onesies, dresses rather than jeans and t-shirts, hair bobbles and ribbons not scrunchies or loose.

It seemed extremely strange when I used to visit mate's DD at the MIL's (for hobby reasons - and we were all friends). DD was not particularly young, say 10 - 13. She was, however, very clever and said, 'I just get on with it.'

Mate is gone now; MIL is gone now; DD is still extremely clever and a credit to both her Mum and her Gran.
