Public displays of affection

Dear Mumsnet,
I have to get something off my chest. I really, REALLY, despise public displays of affection (PDA). It's quite frankly disgusting seeing mainly teens but also others with their tongues down their throats right in the middle of my local village square! I want to take action but I am unsure if I am being unfair. What should I do?
Many thanks! X

Chuck a bucket of water over them.

The80sweregreat · 18/10/2018 19:36

I hate it too!
Should be banned.

Very many thanks for your opinions, friends, they are valued. Now, where's my bucket of water? Just kidding! :P I'll stick to my passive agressive notes and/or having words...

I must insist on the need to take (polite) action.

This has got to be a wind-up.

I would much rather see to people kissing and showing affection that the slanging screaming matches you can see in any town on a Friday / Saturday night

Im.not that keen myself theres really no need for full on snogging and groping in public a little xudfle and a peck fair enough i think um geetting a bit old in my views rhpugh 😟

How do you pass a note to someone mid-snog? Do you tap them on the shoulder and say "here" or what?

Seriously OP, (if you are being serious) where is this place where people are getting in on all over the place?
Don't see any of that in my town, perhaps you should move here? In fact, we have the opposite, they're usually knocking nine bells out of each other at pub kick out time.

Those bushy tails must be a logistical nightmare for amorous squirrels.

Not snogging but earlier this week I was in the waiting room at the doctors and an old couple came in holding hands. Whilst waiting they hardly stopped touching. Just little things like she straightened his collar, he patted her knee sort of thing.
I thought it was really sweet and couldn’t help wondering if they had many years together raised a family and now bounced great grandkids on their knees or had met in their twilight years and bonded over tea and custard creams at the local senior citizens club.

Op has to be having a wind up. .......

I don't live with my boyfriend. He gets a big kiss hello/goodbye at the station! I don't care!

No issues with some kissing and hand holding but people who can't put each other down in restaurants and getting proper handsy is embarassing. We get it, go home & shag!!
