My mug at work broke today. I want a new one and whilst I know I could just take one from home, I like having a ‘special’ one at work So that a cuppa feels like a bit of a treat.

Cheers!

I love this thread! So attached to my mugs but have a new job so I'm going for a le creuset number.. mint green or pink.
Love love love moomin mugs. Have a love one from years ago that smashed which my lovely brother replaced for me recently. all my mugs have a story!

HelloSnow · 18/10/2018 01:33

Wow i have a mug fetish so was enjoying the thread. I followed the queens crush mug link and found my all time favourite mug on there! Which I actually got in Debenhams a few years ago in two colours. It's a lovely large, chunky mug but not too heavy.

I love this mug. Just seen they do a matching teapot! which I'll never use

Go to Tkmaxx OP!! I always get lovely and (sort of) unique mugs there

Olderbyaminute · 18/10/2018 02:18

Black and white Grumpy Cat mug reads “NO”

BasinHaircut · 18/10/2018 07:47

Thank you all.

I really never expected so many people would have an opinion on mugs!

I was explaining to someone at work why I couldn’t just take one of the unclaimed ones out of the cupboard to use instead of my own one, and everyone seemed universally confused about why the mug mattered!

I think I might go for a le cruset one as they look so comforting and I have lusted over them in the shop before.

Herdy ones are great - I needed a new special mug recently. TK Maxx has a great selection all out on display so you can handle and try them.

I got a lovely one.

@ohello the sabichi snug mugs are so good to hold and the thick sides do indeed keep drinks warm longer. I love mine, it’s a definite comfort mug.

Fridaydreamer · 18/10/2018 18:30

TK Maxx is also amazing for mugs. I have many from there as refuse to have any two mugs alike in the house Grin

I've dumped someone for their collection of horrible mugs once. It says a lot
I love my Sainsbury's deco print mugs, black and gold or black and silver. Tried to find a link but I think they're sold out.

Charley50 · 20/10/2018 15:51

I don't like my mug too big. Gets cold quickly and don't like that much tea.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 20/10/2018 15:54

I find myself returning to the Sara Miller website to look at their mugs. The only thing stopping me buying is that I can't decide which one and the£12 delivery to Ireland

This is the thread I never knew I needed! I love stationary but I think I might move over to mugs now

bananasandwicheseveryday · 20/10/2018 16:02

I also love the Dunoon mugs. Beautiful shapes and wonderful designs. I love the Glennie shape and Cairngorm.

Twork · 29/10/2018 22:39

I'm the same OP. New job. New mug.
I love the spider one posted earlier! My mugs are not sophisticated mugs. Grin

Babybearsporij · 30/10/2018 06:23

This is my favourite mug currently. It's from Dunelm.

Love my mugs! I only ever use Susie Watson ones at home like these;

www.susiewatsondesigns.co.uk/pottery/pottery-mug/large-mug.html

However, too expensive for work as they frequently get broken so I buy the ones in Waitrose which are an almost identical style and have some really lovely patterns and never get mistaken for someone else’s....it drives me crazy if someone uses my mug ‘by mistake’ at work!

Mummadeeze · 30/10/2018 06:39

Hellosnow you have the same work mug as me!

SilverHairedCat · 30/10/2018 06:39

If you have a workplace where you can get away with sweary, this is my favourite website: holyflaps.co.uk/product-category/mugs/

I need to buy almost all their mugs for my husband.

MrsAngelClare · 30/10/2018 07:48

I second (Third) Le creuset mugs, they are perfect for a cuppa

DaphneDiligaf · 30/10/2018 07:56

I think the best mugs for work and the ones that have your name and a description of how you like your drinks.

ProfessorMoody · 30/10/2018 08:04

My Emma Bridgewater mug with my name on it is my favourite mug for work. It's robust and feels lovely to drink from and the personalisation means that if it goes walkies in the staff room, I can accost the offender Grin

sprinkleofsunshine · 30/10/2018 08:19
