Tbf I have done SW successfully and lost weight before, trouble is I gained it all again.

Anyone have any helpful SW friendly motivation /inspirational comments to help a serial - failer at this woe!

Ive joined for about the 5th time haha. I find following sw Instagram accounts helpful. It works, it's just sticking to it! I've had 2 off plan meals this weekend but that usually sends me into an all weekend binge but I'm trying to have the mentality of one off plan meal won't ruin the week if I stay on track the rest of the time.
I write everything I eat down and try to eat speed and protein before free food and syns

Ceilingrose · 13/10/2018 17:15

I am similar to Crunchymum. I do t agree with the whole plan but I do like the discipline of having to get weighed.

Ceilingrose · 13/10/2018 17:20

It is out of date and too low fat. It does favour unhealthy yogurts over healthy ones. It does discuss vile recipe ideas based on trying to get people to shift slightly from 1970s eating habit.

But the emphasis on fruit and veg is good. As well as the attempt to limit unhealthy carbs and ensure that you dont eat too much bread. And that you really limit the food which everyone agrees is unhealthy.

I would never choose light mayo over a small amount of vinaigrette though!

labazs · 13/10/2018 17:21

a lot of medical people like GPs support sw as its a lifestyle change rather than a diet you have to follow the rules and stick to them for life or you will end up back to square one. sw now has more support for people who reach target as they realised too many folk were slipping back into old habits

loulouland · 13/10/2018 17:24

Have a look at Team RH on Facebook. Only £5 per month and it really works. You’ll be given a calorie club with specific macros and a goal of 15k steps a day - which should be achievable if you’re walking your dogs every day.

Follow the plan and you’re guaranteed to lose a least lb a week.

RockinRobinTweets · 13/10/2018 17:26

I think that the key is to keep on going to be weighed and to have your treats at the weekend but maybe tone them down. Buy a regular sized chocolate bar or bag of crisps rather than multi packs.

Just remind yourself that you won’t be the size that you want if you carry on as you are

ashtrayheart · 13/10/2018 17:27

I used to go to SW then realised that for about £5 more a month I could get a gym membership. Much more beneficial and I couldn't stand all that clapping and 'body magic' bollocks Grin

AJPTaylor · 13/10/2018 17:40

Sw doesnt work for me
1200 cals a day. 150g of carbs max and several days a week of adding in 16/8 to try to help my metabolism does.
Willpower needed but its the only thing that works on my 50 year old body. Funnily enough i am thinking of joining when im 7 lbs off target. Cos it worked perfectly in maintaining my weight 😂

MustDust · 13/10/2018 17:49

Please take a look at rebelfit, learn why sw is a con and begin to love yourself. You don't have to sign up to anything.

Candlelights2345 · 13/10/2018 17:53

I’m going back to SW this week. I’ve had to take steroids for 3 months and can’t stand how fat I’ve become.
It’s the weekly weigh that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Takiwatanga · 13/10/2018 17:57

I've seen rebel fit, it looks lovely and all... But you still have to pay!? 😂

Come and join the Low Carb Bootcamp here! The next one starts on Monday, lasts for 10 weeks, and it's completely free! Smile

tabulahrasa · 13/10/2018 18:01

SW absolutely does work, in that people lose weight and yes there are plenty of people who keep it off long term as well... but you can’t treat it like a diet, it needs to be something you can keep doing to maintain as well as lose weight.

If you’re overweight, whatever you do to lose weight can’t be a short term thing or it will go back on.

“weekends, sticking to sensible eating of a weekend depresses me!”

In what way? If you’re familiar with SW, what is it you can’t do at weekends?

Lost5stone · 13/10/2018 18:11

If it's support you need the threads in weightloss chat and Boot camp (If your interested in LCHF) are so supportive. I probably wouldn't have stuck to it if I didn't have them. (Plus completely free)

Ivytheterrible · 13/10/2018 18:17

Please don’t! Have a look at the Rebel Fit Facebook group.

PrincessDando · 13/10/2018 18:21

I have made a resolution after many failed resolutions to diet, to stop dieting. For me it just legitimizes overeating as I just tell myself I can diet it off again ( and then don't.).

No it's the slow steady sensible route for me from now on, after 30 years of yo yo ing.

Takiwatanga · 13/10/2018 18:21

Team rh and rebel fit both look refreshingly good. This thread has put me off SW...

As for lchf, been there and done that! Not for me, thanks

Tabula, I can't eat out and enjoy myself as I'm fretting over syns, I can't have a bowl of ice cream and some goodies and watch a film After a long week as ill be fretting over syns. You're limited on SW to what treats you have due to the syns

ovendoor · 13/10/2018 18:24

If you're on Facebook, check out Rebelfit :)

Takiwatanga · 13/10/2018 18:25

What depresses me is I was always a naturally slim person until I fell into the bloody cycle of dieting 🙄 I'm not overweight per se, but I am person who looks better leaner, I don't carry the beef well, haha

I’ve started sw and lost two stone. It’s like anything you do to lose weight, if you stop then the weight goes back on .

I like it but I’m treating it more as a life style change. Less carbs, smaller portions, lots of fruit and veg.
