I’ve just thought of another reason I think it isn’t ok to just say “oh we’re doomed anyway so let’s just let it happen”. Aside from the dreadful legacy the human race will leave behind if we don’t do something, who do you think will be first and worst hit? The people who are the problem (westerners)? Nope. That’s why, even if we’re doomed, it’s completely immoral imo to not try to do something to mitigate the worst effects. As I’ve said, humans weren’t ever going to be around forever, so it was sort of a given we’d eventually die out so I sort of get why people are a bit meh about that. But to just do fuck all about what we’re doing to our fellow human beings and the planet is wrong to me.
