Sair fecht fur hauf a loaf. Literally it’s a sore fight for half a loaf, means I’m working hard for not much reward.

Dinnae fash yersel means not to be bothered by something.

If someone asks me how I’m doing, I’m aye chavvin.

My favourite Scots word is Clarty - means dirty. It’s really descriptive.

bluetrampolines · 11/10/2018 23:27

Roughly where are you from op?

Fluffyears · 11/10/2018 23:28

@thisneverendingsummer in Scotland some of us pronounce the letter J as Jai (to rhyme with eye) I was taught that at school but as I work with clients from all over the uk I have to pronounce it ‘jay’

DC18 · 11/10/2018 23:30
