Vladimirs exactly. The dolphin thread has rippled out to take in ducks, pandas, orcas, kangaroos and humans.

@VladmirsPoutine

Yes I know how Internet forums work. The person who brought up the studies on black women being perceived as less attractive was clearly implying that this is the opinion he/she holds and then later stated that 'mixed is beautiful' or something to that effect.

Your post - while not factually incorrect - was tactless and inappropriate given the context. Knowledge vs wisdom and all that.

Gemini69 · 07/10/2018 15:06

I think your knee jerk reaction to the suggestion that black women are seen as less attractive is because you think that this statement is somehow racist

then you would be thinking wrong... I personally think all women are beautiful ..

the women on Sunday Brunch were all beautiful.. but in comparison to the Jamaican Chef, they appeared bland... ALL of them regardless of colour or creed... but I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. my opinion is the Jamaican girl was stunning.. the rest beautiful...

WhoLetTheCatsOut · 07/10/2018 15:07

Look at Samira on love island, absolutely stunning yet nobody on there was interested

Except she left there with a boyfriend so obviously someone was interested. Frankly I think her awkward as fuck personality was more of a turnoff than anything else, same for Dr Alex. Both awkward as hell.

Gemini69 · 07/10/2018 15:11

on an entirely separate matter.... I think her hair was particularly spectacular... must have taken years to master those dreads... Flowers

Moominfan · 07/10/2018 15:15

Wholethecatout Samira was really poorly portrayed in love island if you was really sad and watched the extras you saw a lot more of her, she was funny and charismatic. When all the new guys turned up each one went straight for meg. Nobody was interested she was just the easy option to stay in similar to Alex. Black women are not represented well in love island or tv in general

VladmirsPoutine · 07/10/2018 15:28

Akana You are entitled to hold the view that my comment was tactless in view of that poster's comments. I think that poster frankly comes across as being a loose canon. That said, I don't think I should mute my opinion in efforts to try to bring the discussion to some semblance of a respectful discussion. Equally the subsequent 'all women are beautiful' 'it's racist to say xyz about black women' are neither helpful nor conducive to unpicking this pervasive issue.

Gemini69 · 07/10/2018 15:51

All women are beautiful Grin Flowers

ohshitonit · 07/10/2018 15:54

God what an attention seeking thread.

SilverySurfer · 07/10/2018 16:38

Having googled some of these women, I agree that they are attractive but no more so than people you could meet in the street/at work etc. I would say one of my neighbours is more beautiful.
