AIBU to think Morrisons sales of Mozzarella are going to drop because of this

Have you seen how they are packaging their mozzarella now? In a clear plastic bag.

Now I love the stuff, but seeing a white misshapen ball floating abound in a cloudy liquid with stringy bits of what looks like mucus is not selling it to me!

It's mozzarella and it looks like mozzarella..... I'm not sure what the issue is.

I'm sure pretty much everyone knows what mozzarella looks like anyway, so they're hardly going to keel over from shock at seeing it.

DarlingNikita · 02/10/2018 09:51

Ffs if you’re scared of looking at cheese then how do you even get through a day? Grin

Sorry, but that was really funny.

I'll be honest, I thought all mozzarella always came in see-through bags.

diamondofdoom · 02/10/2018 09:52

YANU for caring about how cheese is packaged. If you can't handle a few stringy bits of mozzarella then I dread to think what else you're precious about.

diamondofdoom · 02/10/2018 09:54
  • oops I meant YABU. Stupid fat thumbs.
dannydyerismydad · 02/10/2018 09:55

In Italy I used to buy mozzarella in huge transparent buckets.

I'm sad that it comes in such small quantities here.

Kewqueue · 02/10/2018 09:57

But that's what mozzarella looks like! Do you normally eat it with your eyes closed?

BumDisease · 02/10/2018 09:58

Wtf did you think it looks like?

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 02/10/2018 09:59

I thought you were going to say how horrified you were that it was in a plastic bag, as others have said, here in Italy we buy it out of big buckets. And the shop assistant will ask you if you want extra mozzie water to go with it to keep it fresh.

Havaina · 02/10/2018 10:06

Easy mozzarella and paneer recipes gratefully received xx

AltheaorDonna · 02/10/2018 10:08

I thought this thread was going to be something to do with Morrissey! Grin.

As it is, what on earth do you think Mozzarella looks like? If Ihave to have packaging, I like to see what I’m getting.

AnyFucker · 02/10/2018 10:13
WhyDontYouListen · 02/10/2018 10:13

I'd be more tempted to buy it, just seeing it there, waiting to be eaten...mmmm

chatwoo · 02/10/2018 10:16

You must be horrified by the little buckets of Bocconcini Grin

Dobbythesockelf · 02/10/2018 10:17

It's cheese..... do people really put this much thought into things?

FluffySox · 02/10/2018 10:20

It doesn't bother me and I've seen the leftovers of a horse castration Grin

Frogletmamma · 02/10/2018 10:22

First world problem. I buy cheese at a local shop out of a bucket. Its the best cheese ever

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 02/10/2018 10:24

Nope, not bothered. It is what it is!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 02/10/2018 10:38

You must be horrified by the little buckets of Bocconcini

I make my own usually

This thread is shaping up nicely. Grin

Love that clip AF.

mirialis · 02/10/2018 10:57

This is absolutely bonkers.

I honestly just don't get the OP at all Confused

Do you normally eat mozzarella blindfolded???

ToadOfSadness · 02/10/2018 11:01

I have stopped buying it, the last 2 Galbani ones (the extra large ones) I bought had gone off before anywhere near the sell by date and I have found that some of the own brand ones don't melt, they turn to water. Not tried Morrisons I don't think, but the packaging wouldn't put me off.

Waitrose own brand was crap and turned to a scum with water running out of it when heated.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 02/10/2018 11:19

Fresh. proper mozzarella shouldn't last much longer than 24 hours tbh. Which tells you all you need to know about the Galbani-types.

A lot of the mozzarella you find in shops will go watery rather than melt nicely- because it's different to the mozzarella used on pizzas etc. If you go into a pizzeria and watch them making it, the mozzarella they use on top has more of a crumbly soft texture (sort of like a soft cheshire) because it's made differently.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 02/10/2018 11:50

MNHQ please can we have a symbol that indicates when a thread is light-hearted.

I'm not scared, horrified or any of the other OTT phrases used. Read my post, I merely said that the appearance in that packaging was not selling it to me.

although it may have been DP liking it to a bollock that partly put me off

OP posts:
BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 02/10/2018 11:51

Your dp must have mighty big strange bollocks. Has he taken medical advice?

Ohyesiam · 02/10/2018 11:55

Well I’ve definitely seen the like in a path lab, but it’s neber going to put me off pizza 🙃

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 02/10/2018 11:59

Yes melty mozzarella for pizza’s is called Fior Di Latte.

Looks perfectly fine to me
