He's 11 months old, adopted today, very cheeky, and purrs at a touch.

One rule - names need to be one word only. No 'Sir Mewton of whiskerville' nonsense

Posh old man names actively encourages. My favourite is Sebastian, but not sure it has a cute enough nickname....

Raphael as suggested above - distinguished and not common. And suitable for shortening. But Sebastian is good, although I'm not sure about Basty for short - it's going to sound like Bastard.

He looks a bit like my huge black fluffball. Mine is called Simba.
