@glagdy I tried to ask if Next donated to tories and it changed it to stories! It’s from the comments on that post referenced by @bunnies
Look I’m not getting in to what I think about posts and comments someone makes. Of course there are things people would love to discuss. But clearly there’s a lot more to it.

glagdy · 07/10/2018 16:02

Who owns Next? Maybe you have a political phone. Grin

SpiritLeveller · 07/10/2018 16:03

Yes Next donate to the Tories and vocal supporters of Brexit. So sad to see their profits tanking.

Mightymousie · 07/10/2018 16:05

@spiritleveller I had no idea. Confused
@sofialemon give over

SpiritLeveller · 07/10/2018 16:06

That was sarcastic if anyone was unclear!

Sofialemon · 07/10/2018 16:07

@glagdy

I've no idea how to look at my DM's on the app. But in summary I said the reason I believe she shuts down any discussion on here is because people were pointing out that her version of her life experiences is not entirely honest.

If you'd googled her months ago quite a lot came up which just doesn't add up with things she says now. That is why every now and again she'll story to say "yeah I did have botox" "yeah, I did take gifted dresses and promote them on my blog but I regret that now I've seen the error of my ways" and crap like that. She's just as fake as all the others but imo in a far worse way as she is targeting people in extreme poverty and making money from it.

She also used to quite heavily feature her daughter, she just deletes half her account quite frequently.

glagdy · 07/10/2018 16:07

It wasn't @SpiritLeveller! I was about to boycott! Grin

Mightymousie · 07/10/2018 16:11

@sofialemon but you have no issue with people using their children? This is getting ridiculous.

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 07/10/2018 16:13

@mightymouse She’s quite happy if they're middle class but not if they’re working class.

Sofialemon · 07/10/2018 16:13

No I don't, (although personally I wouldn't feature mine to the extent FOD does) but the majority of you do yet SWCNBN is ok to because it's not a #ad?

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 07/10/2018 16:14

That’s tongue in cheek btw. I think she’s just making reference to the fact her feed changes daily.

Mightymousie · 07/10/2018 16:16

@sofialemon
In previous posts (now taken down) that was an aspect I picked up on. I myself feel she is exactly the same and do agree with some of your points. I am respecting the decision to not discuss that topic.
But I do find it bizarre that you would call up her child being featured when you’ve argued against the majority who call out accounts that feature kids.

Mightymousie · 07/10/2018 16:18

If you have something to sell then your post is an ad. Whether that’s a book or a sofa.

Sofialemon · 07/10/2018 16:23

I brought up the featuring kids thing because seemingly it's wrong if certain accounts do it but then ok for others (SWCNBN).

I actually did have an issue with the way her child was featured whilst I've not been bothered by any of the other insta accounts. It was what was being said and various other things I'll not go into. I find it strange so many defend her on here and can only assume they have been taken in by her the same as a lot of her followers.

Sofialemon · 07/10/2018 16:25

I'll not mention that account anymore.

SpiritLeveller · 07/10/2018 16:29

The sarcasm was only wrt to my feelings, Next are indeed massive Tory party donors.

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 07/10/2018 16:29

I see what she’s doing quite clearly. But maintain she offers something a little different, yes she’s still selling, yes she’s essentially an instamum. She plays a character which not everyone was sure about at first. But she is delivering an important message with it though. What she did before this has little relevance to me. Her insights on social inequality are of interest to me.

MarshaBradyo · 07/10/2018 16:30

I’m not surprised certain posts were deleted but I have no idea on the background of it all - haven’t followed that account at all

glagdy · 07/10/2018 16:30

I'm not a fan of any of it apart from a couple of accounts.

How much featuring kids is appropriate is such a personal thing. I'm in two minds.

I personally do find things like fod putting his kids when emotional or sharing a tender moment up vile. As I find cc posting naked pictures of her child sleeping up incredibly out of order. I'm sure many others don't though. Having said that, I do put my ds on social media, although each post I ask myself 'will he mind this post in 10 years time?'

I guess me answering that for him is out of order too and I'm a massive hypocrite. The more I think about it the more I don't want him on any social media but it's how my family and friends (who are abroad) actually feel part of his life and not miss his growing up.

ivegotatheoryitcouldbebunnies1 · 07/10/2018 16:33

Yes, it’s best we don’t mention her anymore.

irishbrumkate · 07/10/2018 16:38

I've found these discussions really interesting, particularly around the topic of sharing images of our children and the issue of consent. As a direct of these threads, I've deleted most photos of my little boy on my social media channels and stopped posting new ones (not that I shared that many anyway). Sorry slightly off topic but thought I'd share anyway!

Cobrider · 07/10/2018 16:51

Sofialemon I have made a couple of digs at you on this thread and your defence of certain Instagram accounts, however I am of entirely the same opinion as you regarding swcbn. Because truth matters to me and I don’t like accounts that in my opinion aren’t entirely truthful. It massively infuriated me that lawyers were used to shut down any discussion of that too.

I think it’s a good thing that the account is on private now and hopefully it will stay private.

Sofialemon · 07/10/2018 16:58

@Cobrider

Yeah, the shutting down of any discussion is annoying. Other insta accounts have had a lot more negative comments made on these threads but the vast majority were not deleted.

SpiritLeveller · 07/10/2018 17:00

Because truth matters to me and I don’t like accounts that in my opinion aren’t entirely truthful.

Amen to that.

Applies also to the shady advertising, which is why the shady operators irk me so much.

Mightymousie · 07/10/2018 17:07

@sofialemon exactly. No one is disagreeing about how open discussion should be. It is annoying. But see how annoyed you are that you can’t bitch about someone, yet you constantly get upset when people discuss other accounts (even if they have genuine point and are not bitching) you want one set of rules for people you take issue with and another for others.
