Just read the news. Meghan has, in a complete break with tradition, closed the car door herself instead of leaving it to whoever is her royal car door closer. Shocking modern American behaviour. What next? Will Charles squeeze his own toothpaste? Thank heavens we've got a Royal Wedding (lite) to look forward to.

The habit of closing doors rather than walking off. She may even flush a toilet, turn off lights and put rubbish in a bin.

I wondered what was wrong with dd who seems incapable of doing any of these. I thought it was just laziness, but no it seems her inability to shut car doors indicates that she is in fact a princess!

I am pro monarchy and believe they do add value, but I have to agree with 5yearplan that the deference and nonsense is ridiculous. I saw a middle aged woman curtsying to Meghan the other day. Admittedly, it was on that trip she took with the queen and I haven't noticed a lot of other curtsying when they're out and about so maybe it was more that she was with the Big Lady. But.... .

Curtsy to the queen, sure, she's old school and has been living this life a long time, but I really hope these silly little things are ditched when Charles becomes king.

Here's my penny's worth.....

The survival of the Commonwealth after The Queen's demise was in doubt a few years ago. Then along comes Meghan and plays a blinder on her wedding day. I bet the Firm can't believe their luck and the Sussexes have revitalised the concept of the Commonwealth in less than a year.

What a nonsense word “princess” is, it’s like something from a fairy tale. I cant believe that in the 21st century we tolerate such nonsense. I agree with 5yearplan4000, they hold the country back, and we’re brainwashed into thinking we need them. We really don’t.
