I have eaten a stupendously hot spicy dhal. Will I survive?

It was so good but SO HOT Shock I love spicy food but I clumsily let half the jar of cayenne pepper fall into the pot, and didn't think it would be too bad.

It was very hot indeed. My mouth is still on fire.

I'm gonna make it right?

God help anybody who gets in between you and the toilet...

SharedLife · 26/09/2018 20:31

Pop some flushable wet wipes in the fridge. Good luck!

Ohb0llocks · 26/09/2018 20:31

Your bum might cry

RedneckStumpy · 26/09/2018 20:31

You will have the ring of fire tomorrow

Ha! There is only me Grin no worries on that front.

Drink milk

MrsTommyBanks · 26/09/2018 20:33

Do you share a bathroom? You might need to book some time in there alone Grin

Is this really a thing? Burning at The Other End?

Do you have a late night pharmacy or supermarket nearby?

Get a tube of germoliods for the inevitable pain tomorrow or you will be walking like John Wayne Grin

I do this to myself far too often with my favourite delicious but very spicy pizza

SaucyJack · 26/09/2018 20:34

You’ll be fine, but if you wake up in the night and your bowel is telling you it needs to evacuate, listen to that voice.

MrsTommyBanks · 26/09/2018 20:35

Ha cross post.

Biancadelriosback · 26/09/2018 20:35

My friend did this once (not exactly this but ate something way too spicy) and she ended up popping a carrot in the freezer and....well...use your imagination Blush

Bambamber · 26/09/2018 20:37

Ring sting Grin

Busybusybust · 26/09/2018 20:37

Just remember it’s always twice as hot coming out!😂

BarbarianMum · 26/09/2018 20:38

Burning at the other end. Is it a thing?
Oh yes indeed. Wink

AbsentmindedWoman · 26/09/2018 20:38

Fucking hell, this thread isn't exactly reassuring Grin

My vague concern when I posted was could it irritate my stomach and give me an ulcer or something.

I have kefir. Would that be a soothing drink?

OP posts:
RangeRider · 26/09/2018 20:44

I was going to say that your core will get hotter and hotter until you spontaneously combust but it sounds like you'll be reaching for frozen carrots long before that!
Maybe you should be ordering a new toilet and booking the plumber to install it...

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 26/09/2018 20:44

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PASS WIND UNLESS ON THE LOO. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

BarbarianMum · 26/09/2018 20:45

It's more likely to irritate your gut than your stomach tbh. It wont give you an ulcer but could irritate one you already have. Tbh the worst that may happen is a couple of unpleasant hours on and off the loo.

NorthenderNamechanger · 26/09/2018 20:45

One time I ate an entire jar of peppers. My bumhole cried the next day. And my eyes.

Not sure cayenne will produce the same effect tbh, but just in case, save the kefir for your bumhole.

AbsentmindedWoman · 26/09/2018 20:46

@BarbarianMum thank you. That's quite reassuring Grin

Drink cold milk!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 26/09/2018 20:53

Eating yoghurt's your saviour here, though I admit I've never tried the "frozen carrot method"

... but only because I hadn't thought of it Wink

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 26/09/2018 20:56

I want a spicy dahl now. Just have a spoonful or three of plain yoghurt if you have some, milk if not. That will take away any burning.

I've been eating fairly hot curries for the best part of 3 decades and I've never experienced anything like the 'jokes' refer to! I honestly don't really understand it - maybe some people are affected adversely, but obviously not everyone is!
