I know i’m not BU, but mum and dad are making such a big deal of this that I need opinions. AIBU to hitchhike 400 miles to see Nirvana in concert? I can study for exams when I get back. Mum and dad said they would pay for me to take the coach but that takes all the fun out of it. I never know who I will meet hitching and sometimes my rides give me drugs. And AIBU to sleep in a hedge outside the concert venue? I want to save my money for booze and pills, not waste it on accomodation

AIBU

But I went out and got a tattoo ( I’m 14 so not a kid) and my mum flipped her shit when I got home.

She asked how I got the money for this ( eye roll) and I said because my BF paid because he’s such a good guy.

( this did happen, i regret that tattoo in particular and my mum brings it up at every opportunity)

Losingthewill - it was of his name right?

Losingthewill1 · 26/09/2018 12:18

Thighofrelief

Nope!

It was a certain stylish tattoo at the time of an aquatic animal that a lot of people I know had.

Blotchy as hell now

My mum just lost her shit that a "strange" 40yo guy asked me out. He's not strange, we met last weekend - AIBU?

Mildmanneredmum · 26/09/2018 13:05

My mum just bought some new curtains, when she KNOWS I -want- need a new skirt, some No. 7 and those amazing tights. How U.

Mildmanneredmum · 26/09/2018 13:06

and then I can't do a strikethrough properly. I'm damaged for life.

CoffeeFountain · 26/09/2018 13:17

StarkintheSouth · 26/09/2018 14:06

What's the problem with going to see the Backstreet Boys night before my Chemistry GCSE?!?!?! IANBU!!!!!!!!!

Thighofrelief · 26/09/2018 14:42

Fishcanfly - YANBU - your mum is jealous because she is an old hag. I bet he can even drive.

Caroelle · 26/09/2018 14:49

AIBU unreasonable to want to go to the 6th form disco at a nightclub up two flights of stairs three weeks after I got run over. I know that I have smashed my knee up and I am on crutches, and that going through a car windscreen from the outside because I was crossing the road without looking might have made me look like something from a disaster movie. But what is their problem?

bevelino · 26/09/2018 17:27

I love this hilarious thread!

CrumblyMumbly · 26/09/2018 20:04

God it's not fair - ok I said I was going to the youth club and they caught me with a boy snogging in the back of a car at a country pub - luckily they didn't know it was Bacardi in my coke and I had a fag - ha ha. They said "We'll talk to you when you get home" so I shit myself all night then they didn't even tell me off just said they need to know where I am.

I don't think I'll let my daughter out of my sight until she's 30!

thisonebreath · 26/09/2018 20:19

Following on from my previous post...how unreasonable is my mum?! She found out about the party and confiscated my key after doing her quiet 'I'm so disappointed' speech. It's not that bad, I mean yeah the police were called by my nosy neighbours because of the noise. But I cleaned up the mess. Mostly.

(I'm now Shock at the thought. I got off fairly lightly all things considered).

ambereeree · 26/09/2018 20:30

AIBU my mum is soooo tight she won't give me any more money to buy a new lipliner from bodyshop. I need cinnamon spice for the leavers disco. I spent all my money already on flares and a satin shirt from river island.

Allineedyoutodois · 26/09/2018 20:34

AIBU to steal my best friend away from her boyfriend? He's a total douche bag, can't kiss - she told me, and she says she prefers kissing me anyway. I told Father John in confession that i was in love with her and he gave me 100(!!) Hail Mary's, which will take FOREVER to say, and told me that 16 year olds shouldn't be kissing anyone. Anyway, it's her birthday next week and I've saved up enough for us to go to Galway for two nights on our own as a surprise, because she's always wanted to go and our mums say it's fine as long as I promise that we'll share a room and not talk to strange boys...

Allineedyoutodois · 26/09/2018 21:58

AIBU to hitchhike to the ferry to Scotland then hitchhike to London to meet up with some Americans I met on holiday? My Dps are freaking out completely and have said I can't go, but it'll be the week after my GCSE's so I have loads of time off, and my girlfriend's on hols with her family so what else am I going to do all summer??

Thighofrelief · 26/09/2018 22:59

Allineedyoutodo - totes YANBU! Americans are cool and did they have any better ideas? If you've done your GCSEs you are a grown up and can just run away and join the SAS if they don't stop harshing your vibe.
