I love the theme tune to NCIS. And Friends of course.

Loving this thread...
Diff’rent Strokes

Now, the world don’t move to the beat of just one drum
What might be right for you, may not be right for some
A man is born, he’s a man of means
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans

But they got Diff’rent Strokes.
It takes Diff’rent Strokes
It takes Diff’rent Strokes to move the world

Everybody’s got a special kind of story;
Everybody finds a way to shine.
It don’t matter that you got not a lot
So what?
They’ll have theirs, you’ll have yours, and I’ll have mine
And together we’ll be fine

‘Cuz it takes Diff’rent Strokes to move the world
Yes it does
It takes Diff’rent Strokes to move the world

Remembered another one I loved – bit niche, but Round the Twist anyone? Aussie children's programme about a family who lived in a lighthouse.

Loving this thread @SneakyGremlins, it's throwing me right back into my childhood of raining Saturday afternoons, pikelets and cheese for tea (whilst watching The A-Team), the movie which followed on Betamax video (we thought that was the way to go, over VHS) from Pharaoh's videos was probably either Convoy or Indiana Jones (both with great title tracks). I do miss the days of only 4 channels and a video player (if you were lucky). TV was a treat and real entertainment, rather than lots of repeats and background noise (although I think Netflix is changing that again).

So many great theme tunes! Yay for the PP who mentioned Rentaghost. I quite often have that going round in my head. And Henry's Cat as well ("You must have seen the movie, you must have read the book, he's a mellow, yellow feline, so take a second look" Grin).

SerenDippitty I used to love the High Chapparal. Was that the one where the map used to burst into flames during the opening sequence?? I also loved Champion the Wonder Horse. We used to watch them on a Saturday morning when we were kids.

StorminaBcup · 23/09/2018 21:52

Yes!! Round the twist Smile. Still know the words Smile

adreamofspring · 23/09/2018 22:00

Some great classics posted by PPs on here.
I taped the ski Sunday theme tune off the telly and played it on my Walkman when I went skiing when I was 11!!

But I'm wondering - unless I missed it - how did this thread get to 10 pages without mentioning 'Murder She Wrote?' I love that one sooo much

treezylover · 23/09/2018 22:04

Ah, current fave is ‘the affair’, but love OITNB too.

DuggeeHugs · 23/09/2018 22:05

My mum and I always sing the Silent Witness theme tune very loudly. Sometimes this is accompanied with dancing. My husband finds it strange and my father can't reach the notes.

Round the Twist! Still know all the words, as demonstrated by me to my husband just now. Poor guy. I'm not vocally gifted at all.

AlliKaneErikson · 23/09/2018 22:24

Willy Fogg (80 Days around the world), Dogtanian and Mysterious Cities of Gold were epic.

Downtown Abbey makes me want to punch someone in the face. I turn the sound off till it’s done.

AlliKaneErikson · 23/09/2018 22:25

applesauce We always sing along to Silent Witness too with the lyrics ‘There’s a horsey there; Dobbin is his name’ plus more random phrases. It amuses us...

WetPaint4 · 23/09/2018 22:30

I always loved the theme tune to Home and Away, although it makes me sad now. It brings back memories of me getting home from school. Also, Kenan and Kel. You just hear the first couple of bars and you know Coolio is about to step in Grin

Charley50 · 23/09/2018 22:32

The Banana Splits!

WhatchaMaCalllit · 23/09/2018 22:40

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet but Murder She Wrote had a belter of a theme tune.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 23/09/2018 23:02

Anyone else remember the 70s TV Show "The Lost Islands"? That theme tune was a banger.
