AIBU to want a quick fix for wart removal?

Hi all,
Posting here for traffic. I have a wart on my knuckle, need it gone asap. Waiting 6-8 weeks (or years going by older threads on here) isn't ideal...
I work in healthcare, constantly washing my hands so plasters etc won't withstand that. With weather getting colder my hands are likely to become chapped and broken. I assume I can't work with a bleeding wart... 😷

buy the stuff from the chemist that freezes the wart?

Munchyseeds · 22/09/2018 12:59

Have always just had to wait for them to go in their own time, treatments didnt work....sorry I know thats not what you want to hear!

HoleyCoMoley · 22/09/2018 13:03

Bazuza wart remover, cover your finger with one of those plastic finger protectors, bandage it underneath. Wear gloves a lot.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 22/09/2018 13:07

Thanks, its actually on my knuckle so a finger protector won't work. I have to keep glove use to a bare minimum (essential use only) as my hands get so broken down.
I'll give the bazooka a go anyway!

It can take weeks to work and then the wart comes back...

Piffle11 · 22/09/2018 13:10

I think Salactol is better than the freeze treatments. Used Salactol for my DS's verrucas - got loads when he started swimming. The Bazooka, Wartner, etc wasn't very effective. Used Salactol and they went really quickly. You paint it on and let it dry.

HoleyCoMoley · 22/09/2018 13:15

You can buy finger protectors with a strap that would cover a knuckle, they're called finger stalls, chemists, boots and Amazon sell them.

lynmilne65 · 22/09/2018 13:16

You warter know better 🤓

pitapizzapie · 22/09/2018 13:19

Nothing gets rid, they go in their own sweet time. Freezing etc just keeps you busy.

Any chance you are in the south west....

Sounds crazy but there is a fresh water well nearish me. When I was in primary school I had over 30 warts on my hands. Tried everything and nothing worked.

Went to this well and washed my hands.... then washed my hands in the water for 2 weeks.... over the weeks you could see the skin coming away in the water.... apart from one tiny one that came back I have been wart free....

I understand it is the minerals from the surrounding area that gets into the water that has healing properties.

People take water for drinking. It's lovely.

Unfortunate not, but a pain free, minimal effort approach sounds wonderful! Grin

I know you can't wear plasters etc because of your job but try thick masking tape like the black Gorilla Glue one anytime you're not at work and overnight.
As a teen I had a wart on my thumb and verrucas and swear by this!

AsleepAllDay · 22/09/2018 14:06

Get it burnt off at a beauticians.

GreenTulips · 22/09/2018 14:06

Have you tried spray plasters? Last for days

Also look for the poison plasters - small dot of poison covered by a plaster (or spray plaster should work

CardsforKittens · 22/09/2018 14:14

TCP and tweezers. It hurts though. Freezing is probably better.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 22/09/2018 14:14

Have you tried apple cider vinegar overnight? We tried everything for ds warts and this worked within days.

Crackedvase · 22/09/2018 14:27

Rub a cut potato on it and bury the spud after Grin

Prizepudding · 22/09/2018 14:50

Tea tree oil worked for us

Itsatravesty · 22/09/2018 14:53

You can have it done during a routine GP appointment at my local surgery. Liquid nitrogen is the only thing that works ime, even then it can take a few attempts.

SilverySurfer · 22/09/2018 14:56

I know this is completely bonkers.

My Dad had warts on his hands which he couldn't get rid of - he tried everything from the chemist. His DM told him to rub a piece of raw meat on his warts and bury the meat in the garden. All his warts disappeared after a short period of time.

Absolutely bonkers but it worked.

Eliza9917 · 22/09/2018 14:59

Apple cider vinegar and duct tape.

Alienspaceship · 22/09/2018 14:59

Wartner - but for heavens sake DO NOT follow the instructions. Blitz the hell out of it everyday and it will soon go.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 22/09/2018 15:08

crackedvase and silverysurfer
I'll rub my whole dinner on it as long as it works!

Should I just stick to one method? Or just throw everything at it??

I tried fresh meat and lemon ... neither worked for me... but it's worth a try....

If it helps anyone.... the well is near the border of South Wales (about half hour away) if anyone wants the details pm me
