www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6195853/Credit-Suisse-boss-dresses-woman-slammed-appearing-100-women-list.html

Is this for real? To be clear this is not a trans bashing thread! This man is “gender fluid” so decides almost on a day to day basis which gender (basically shall I wear a dress or men’s suit to work today?) and has been listed in the top 100 WOMEN in finance??
He is NOT a woman, he isn’t even trans, he is a fancy dress enthusiast at best!!!!

So women who have worked hard to become the top of their field will now have to compete with men in women’s only categories too.

This has given me the rage Angry

YABU to take a Daily Mail report at face value.

Johndoe10 · 22/09/2018 12:16

I’m bothered because an actual adult female that’s worked her arse off could have had that place, rather than a adult Male that switches from day to day.

vinoandbrie · 22/09/2018 12:16

This is awful. Sickening that a woman's place has been taken by this man who sometimes dresses up as a woman. Disgraceful.

Fireworks91 · 22/09/2018 12:17

Agreed. They even say they waited until they were established and senior before coming out.

I knew it would be this article when I saw the post title.

fiorentina · 22/09/2018 12:18

Having seen him present at a Women In Finance conference about supporting more women in the industry and retaining them once they have children

Interesting. Can you tell us what Bunce said about his own wife's career? Has Mrs Bunce been able to retain her place in the workforce? Or is she at home supporting Bunce?

Re this comment this wasn’t covered, in the same way that I don’t appreciate people questioning my support network to pursue a city career. ‘Who is looking after your children tonight’ type of questions. Sorry if I’m missing your point?

Re men at Women in finance awards, they are definitely invited. Some companies had plenty, others none.

ADastardlyThing · 22/09/2018 12:19

It's not true gersemi? Thank fuck for that!

Fake news everyone!

BoneyBackJefferson · 22/09/2018 12:21

Poloshot
Why are you that bothered?

You are aware that he doesn't even identify as female?
Yet he gets put on a list for women

ShineOnHarvestMoon · 22/09/2018 12:24

decides almost on a day to day basis which gender

I wonder if, on a day to day basis, he decides which salary to take: the male salary or the 85% of it that women get paid?

InstagramPork · 22/09/2018 12:24

@fiorentina is great he’s an advocate for women in the workplace and I agree that more men need to do the same.
However, that DOES NOT MAKE HIM A FUCKING WOMAN!!!!

OP posts:
CarolDanvers · 22/09/2018 12:25

"Why are you bothered?"

Oh stop pretending this is perfectly normal and acceptable. It's not and if you can't see it then either your pathetic desperation to be "woke" has clouded your judgment or you're very stupid.

lizzzyyliveson · 22/09/2018 12:27

Re this comment this wasn’t covered, in the same way that I don’t appreciate people questioning my support network to pursue a city career. ‘Who is looking after your children tonight’ type of questions. Sorry if I’m missing your point?

I think you take my point very well. Bunce will never in his life have had to wonder about who is looking after his own children because he is a man. I bet he wouldn't even know what a 'support network' is beyond someone to help him pick out a nice blusher.

viques · 22/09/2018 12:27

has Mrs Bunce been able to sustain her place in the workforce.Or Is she at home supporting Bunce

I am willing to bet she is at home doing wimmins work because a pound to a penny dear Pippa kicks off those heels when she gets home, slips into tracky bottoms, and reverts to being Phil. Can't see Pips tying on a pinny, mucking out the Guinea pigs and sorting out tomorrow's school uniform after a day at work making exhausting manly , I mean womanly , financial decisions.

The irony is of course that had Phillip been a woman in the first place he wouldn't have risen to such heights in the company that would have allowed him to choose be a part time pretend woman, if you see what I mean.

NoSquirrels · 22/09/2018 12:27

Plenty of men have the opportunity to “do more for women” in the City, or elsewhere, without dressing as a woman some of the time and then appropriating women’s places, positions and awards.

To be honest, I’d have more respect for Bunce if they said they dressed as a woman to break down gender categories, not to “be” a woman on certain days of the week. It’s a fetish. Or a delusion. It’s not possible to be a part-time woman. You are. Or you are not.

World has gone fucking mad.

ShineOnHarvestMoon · 22/09/2018 12:30

Can you tell us what Bunce said about his own wife's career? Has Mrs Bunce been able to retain her place in the workforce? Or is she at home supporting Bunce?

Ha ha ha ha ha! I gather she's a fairly typical SAHM corporate wife, facilitating her husband's career.

Her position in this, one might assume, is because of her biological role as a woman (adult human female whatever she wears or whatever length her hair) bearing children. Thus taking a hit to her career.

The hypocrisy of Mr Bunce is almost past breathtaking.

ImPreCis · 22/09/2018 12:32

OP, You are absolutely right to be angry about this. Unfortunately it is not a one off. Pips has won various awards for ‘Women’, clearly wearing a pink frock once or twice a week is all it takes to be a woman these days and he has definitely never benefited from male privilege to get to these lofty heights.

burnoutbabe · 22/09/2018 12:34

From the article
-------
The second annual ranking of female and male executives who have made a substantial difference to women’s careers

The HERoes lists celebrate company leaders who support women in business.

The following individuals were identified as champions of women: all were nominated by peers and colleagues, and the nominations then reviewed by a panel of judges (see end of article).
-------
So its not TOP 100 women in finance, its champions of women. Which is a bit different and men and women can be on the list. (not saying he should be or not but men can be on this list)

NoSquirrels · 22/09/2018 12:35

If he wanted to “do more for women” he would use his uniquely privileged position to publicly refuse awards for women, and talk about why he is so uniquely privileged compared to all the other women around him.

disorganisedXX · 22/09/2018 12:35

Misogyny in action.

The world agrees with you OP

Woman is not a costume.

scepticalwoman · 22/09/2018 12:36

Don't want to depress people but I believe that two women were kicked off the list in favour of cross dressers. This person (who describes themselves as 'a stylish demure middle-aged chief executive officer who sometimes goes into work as a man so she can bully people better' ) was also on the list:

CountersurfingPerf · 22/09/2018 12:36

Well said @Carol.

This situation has apparently even upset some TAs

NoSquirrels · 22/09/2018 12:37

Ah! Thanks burnoutbabe. Fair enough, perhaps he deserves his place on a list of “supporters of women”.

Still think he could do more to make clear the difference between his position and that of other women.

gendercritter · 22/09/2018 12:37

It's an absolute pisstake.

I would be very surprised if there weren't an awful lot of very aggrieved women working at CS. Most women cannot turn up to work in hot pink dresses and fishnet tights and not experience consequences of some sort.

Having a fetish which involves women's clothing does not make a man a woman. And this story is all about male privilege. The trans argument is about people like Pips being oppressed. But if the lowliest man in the company had announced he wanted to 'dress as a woman' some days, like hell would he have been indulged. Pips only gets away with it because of having power. And yy to his wife being at home doing all the wifework.

'Woman' is not a costume.

wrenika · 22/09/2018 12:40

It's just a daft list...it doesn't matter.
His role as an individual who embraces male and female aspects is important representation. I think that matters more than some silly 'top 100' list.

LastOneDancing · 22/09/2018 12:41

fiorentina

If Bunce truly has an interest in promoting women in industry etc. he would have done far more good if he had politely and publicly declined the award stating that, despite wearing dresses twice a week he is not a woman and does not qualify for a women's award

Now THAT would have really helped.

disorganisedXX · 22/09/2018 12:41

It absolutely fucking matter wrenika, it's the blatant and public erosion of women's rights, we no longer exist and should be up in arms about it!
