DS (only child) asked for a free house this evening, with three mates........... over the summer we have willingly headed out............... the weather is vile, it would have cost us £30 to have two drinks, or £65 to £70 for a meal out.

We said on this occassion we are not going out, hang in the front room and we will head up to bed at about 10 ish....

So question.............. pint of decent ale and a large white wine............... how much...????

Please and thank you.

Hollowtalk I was in a pub the other day where a gin was £12 ( that’s for 1 drink) I’ve always lived in London so I’m used to stupid prices but even I thought that was a shocker!
It was a poncy pub with a gin menu Hmm £12 was the cheapest

TheCumbrian · 22/09/2018 00:09

Between £5-£6 for the wine and £3 -£3.90 for the beer. Lake District.

RedPandaMama · 22/09/2018 00:14

Our local (NW) about £9.

DP's parents local, where we are now, £13.90 last time we went to the pub. Large rosé and a pint. Ouch.

I don't know about the ale, but I bought a bottle of wine in the most local pub to me, a month or two ago, for £8.49.

UrsulaPandress · 22/09/2018 00:20

£9.40 for a large wine and half a lager the other evening. I don't get out much. Clearly because I can't afford it.

For a pint and a large wine, about €6. With free olives or crisps Grin

BaronessBomburst · 22/09/2018 00:26

About 9 euros.
Might get nuts thrown in, depends on which bar.

Xmasbaby11 · 22/09/2018 00:29

Between 8 and 10 pounds for those 2 drinks. Sheffield.

About 40 but I in Sweden, we never go out - its far too expensive.

SallyVating · 22/09/2018 05:03

Large glass of shit house wine £6.50
Pint of carling/fosters £3.80

DiveBombingSeagull · 22/09/2018 06:55

Pretentious village pub, doesn’t have normal stuff like Fosters, only craft ale or Moretti is £7 a pint.
Large glass of wine is about the same, so yes £30 for two drinks.

It’s the only one in walking distance but sometimes cheaper to go into town and cab it back if we are out for several.

Ijumpedtheshark · 22/09/2018 07:03

£13. I’m in Kent.

Wishiwasonholiday1 · 22/09/2018 08:49

£14 for one round SW London.
