So it seems the average mumsnetter at the moment...

Breast feeds her kids til they r 10

Gets their tits out in Tesco (it's a woman right, they are just the same as men's breasts aparantly)

Loves and accepts people of all race, ethnicity, age, culture, dress sense, religion etc... but no transgender people(for some reason)

dislikes men and identifies as a feminist

Like to think they are liberal and free and natural and organic

Doesn't judge anybody at all ever (but is actually very judgmental!)

Loves teachers - teachers can do no wrong (to say so is teacher bashing)

Has the exact perfect relationship with their children (encourages independence, no tiger mums here! But never neglectful and always at the ready to call social services for other people's children )

Mmmmmmm Hmm

OP posts:
Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 19/09/2018 07:57

Oh wait

I do have a lovely relationship with my children, but they aren't overly independent

I feel a bit better now

TheHulksPurplePanties · 19/09/2018 08:05

Breast feeds her kids til they r 10 - DS till 6 weeks, DD not at all. Hated it, never again.

Gets their tits out in Tesco (it's a woman right, they are just the same as men's breasts aparantly) - Never been to a Tesco, is there something about them that makes you want to get your tits out?

Loves and accepts people of all race, ethnicity, age, culture, dress sense, religion etc... but no transgender people(for some reason) Generally I don't like people at all, but not because of their race, ethnicity, age, culture, dress-sense, religion or if they are transgender. Just generally find that people are assholes.

dislikes men and identifies as a feminist See above, same applies. I am a feminist.

Like to think they are liberal and free and natural and organic - Liberal minded, yes. Free, natural and organic Fuck no, give me some chemicals.

Doesn't judge anybody at all ever (but is actually very judgmental!) - I think everyone is an asshole, until proven otherwise. I guess that's pretty judgemental.

Loves teachers - teachers can do no wrong (to say so is teacher bashing) - Teachers are assholes too.

Has the exact perfect relationship with their children (encourages independence, no tiger mums here! But never neglectful and always at the ready to call social services for other people's children ) - Nope. Not a tiger mom though. Far too lazy for that nonsense.

Trampire · 19/09/2018 08:10

Oh yes, all MN's have genius children and anything below a A* grade or a 9 (I'm sure they'll be pushing for a grade 10 soon) means your child is an absolute numbskull and you didn't "do your best as a parent" for them by sending them to a top private school.

Trampire · 19/09/2018 08:12

Most MN's can afford a top private school by -

Camping
Driving a second hand Volvo
Eating baked beans

Anyone who doesn't do this are "not doing their absolute best fir their children"

I think I'm most definitely a below average MN.

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 19/09/2018 08:12

Its far too early in the morning for another pile of tosh post Hmm

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 19/09/2018 08:18

Yes, why have you namechanged for this? Hmm

Breast feeds her kids til they r 10 - she was 5 actually. Shoot me.

Gets their tits out in Tesco (it's a woman right, they are just the same as men's breasts aparantly) As others have said, if I were feeding, then yes, I would have.

Loves and accepts people of all race, ethnicity, age, culture, dress sense, religion etc... but no transgender people(for some reason) What an odd thing to think. I like some people. I don't like others.

dislikes men and identifies as a feminist -see above post. I do identify as a feminist though.

Like to think they are liberal and free and natural and organic - god no. I am free. I think most of us are. Natural stuff is often a bit shite and doesn't work properly. If you're talking toiletries or cleaning products. I quite like the odd apple. Organic- again, yeah, sometimes. If it's reduced. I do buy organic eggs.

Doesn't judge anybody at all ever (but is actually very judgmental!) I judge people the whole time. Especially with OPs like you.

Loves teachers - teachers can do no wrong (to say so is teacher bashing) I don't love teachers. I do believe that a lot of parents think their own children can do no wrong. In the same way that those same parents see no irony in wahhhing that Junior has been reprimanded and at the same time wanting to go and slap the teacher.

Has the exact perfect relationship with their children (encourages independence, no tiger mums here! But never neglectful and always at the ready to call social services for other people's children ) I've never called SS, but I would if I saw a child being abused or learned of abuse happening. I have a pretty good relationship with dd, but hey, she's 14 so locks herself in her room and opens the door 4 inches while I throw biscuits in.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 19/09/2018 08:21

I think about 20% of MNers have genius children, the same number have struggling at school children and the majority are just pretty normal. Like in real life. I do see a lot of silly posts thinking Junior must be gifted when he's 8 weeks old and can already do calculus.

Why are you so judgemental about other people's choices OP? Have you had your arse handed to you hence the namechange by any chance?

Goldenbug · 19/09/2018 08:28

And much like folk living in deeply rural places, they don't trust anybody who hasn't been around for at least 30 years.

CantankerousCamel · 19/09/2018 08:30

You forgot the £150k annual salary

KlutzyDraconequus · 19/09/2018 08:33

Breast feeds her kids til they r 10
I'm not a 'Her' so lack capacity

Gets their tits out in Tesco (it's a woman right, they are just the same as men's breasts aparantly)
Nope, tho why shouldn't breastfeeding mum's?

Loves and accepts people of all race, ethnicity, age, culture, dress sense, religion etc... but no transgender people(for some reason)
Yup, unless those same people expect their rights and acceptancee at the cost of others.

dislikes men and identifies as a feminist
I'm a man so can never be a proper feminist, but I do hate most men

Like to think they are liberal and free and natural and organic
No idea what this means

Doesn't judge anybody at all ever (but is actually very judgmental!)
No I'm judgemental, especially of shit tier posting on Mumsnet.

Loves teachers - teachers can do no wrong (to say so is teacher bashing)
Nope. Teaches are human and fallible.

Has the exact perfect relationship with their children (encourages independence, no tiger mums here! But never neglectful and always at the ready to call social services for other people's children )
There is no perfect relationship. Every relationship is different.

Damn . I lose. I'll have to head to the "Other" side.. :(

DuchessofManchester · 19/09/2018 08:36

I've never got my tits out in Tesco, or any other supermarket. Do I get my membership revoked now?

RedSuitcase · 19/09/2018 08:51

Don't forget:

*Believes that children can't possibly ever misbehave but instead are misunderstood and need to be love bombed or have SEN. In short, children shouldn't have discipline but instead be given endless freedom

*Diagnoses any sniff of unreasonableness or antisocial behaviour as being a mental health issue that should subsequently be pandered to

*Ruthlessly judges everyone else for being judgemental

*Believes that people on benefits are completely helpless and must be given whatever they want because they couldn't possibly work for themselves

*Similarly believes that its next to impossible for one to improve ones situayion

*Believes that having children is an unquestionable right regardless of whether the parents can afford them despite overpopulation being one of the biggest world issues at present

*... But will complain endlessly at the lack of housing available

*Believes that the Government has endless finances and that everything should be free... Unless you've worked your way up to a high salary in which case you should pay for everyone else

KlutzyDraconequus · 19/09/2018 08:56

*Believes that people on benefits are completely helpless and must be given whatever they want because they couldn't possibly work for themselves

This isnt accurate.. in fact I'd say the polar opposite is true if MN as a whole. The amount of benefit bashing threads I see on here is ridiculous really..
Like the current wide eyed poster thinking poor people just need to grow their own aubergines..

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 19/09/2018 08:57

Exactly klutzy

(Plus aubergines are rank)

Quangot · 19/09/2018 08:59
Biscuit
Speakupspeakout · 19/09/2018 09:19

You forgot that most Mumsnetters can smell scented sanitary towels on other women.

This made me Grin

Eliza9917 · 19/09/2018 10:15

Also believes no one should ever do anyone else in the household's washing. Or cook for them. Unless it's a man and then they should do everything while working full time as life is just so hard as a woman.

I really don't get this thing of only looking after yourself in the home.

HebeMumsnet · 19/09/2018 11:48

Trying to moderate this thread but I can't quite see out from behind all my naice ham. Also my eyes are watering from Zoflora fumes and all I have to hand to wipe them is my thrice-laundered-this-morning Egyptian cotton duvet cover. But don't mind me. Wink

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 19/09/2018 11:52
TerfsUp · 19/09/2018 11:54

Hebe, you sound like you have an undiagnosed MH issue. Or possibly autism. Give me another two minutes and I'll be able to tell you definitively once I know whether or not you've been invited to a wedding.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/09/2018 11:55

Thrice-laundered? I’ve missed a thread!

Sparklingbrook · 19/09/2018 12:00

Don't forget the folk that don't have a bathroom bin but flush their tampons so it doesn't matter-and tough to any menstruating visitors they can just stuff it all in their handbag, or walk through the house and out the front door to the wheelie. Hmm

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 19/09/2018 12:01

I really don't get all this my 4 year old washes and irons all their own clothes and can cook a gourmet meal just for themselves. They must have shit loads of clothes to be able to do a full wash to make it economically viable Confused

Christ I had to teach my adult daughter how to boil pasta last week and she has no idea how to use a washing machine baptism of fire this weekend though when she leaves home so I'm clearly a crappy, crappy parent 😂

PinkHeart5914 · 19/09/2018 12:02

What you describe OP are the mumsnet loons and they give us all a giggle, it’s the only reason I read AIBU

Sparklingbrook · 19/09/2018 12:03

I had a photo of some stuff in a frying pan sent from DS1 in his first few weeks at Uni with a 'does this look cooked to you'? Grin I bought him a meat thermometer for Christmas.
