Use Martin Lewis resolver
Complete the inline form, press submit, then sit back and wait

dontbesillyhenry · 14/09/2018 16:55

I got four grand for nothing....that's always worthwhile!

Davros · 14/09/2018 17:04

Everyone I know got good pay outs ... except for us! I blame DH because he's always understood finance so I think we avoided taking it out. I wish we had, nice windfall. Definitely go for it, good luck

DaisyDreaming · 14/09/2018 17:24

Always worth trying! You will never know unless you do

ohreallyohreallyoh · 14/09/2018 17:26

Yes, £6k in my case. I used the Martin Lewis Resolver site earlier this year.

Toomanycats99 · 14/09/2018 17:26

Use the resolver website. Very easy and no fees to pay.

RedPanda2 · 14/09/2018 17:42

Yes, I got £650 for a £90 insurance scheme i had totally forgotten about. It's worth a go but don't use a company- they take a huge cut

Frustratedmummy79 · 14/09/2018 17:43

We claimed everything we thought might have PPI on it through the Martin Lewis website - got a couple of grand back. Recently we were contacted by a PPI claim company that a friend recommended - we let them crack on thinking that they wouldn’t find anything since we’d already claimed....they found another £3000 that we had no idea about!!

Wingbing · 14/09/2018 17:49

Yeah totally worth it. 9200k here and easy to claim. Don’t need to use a claim company.

Pimmsypimms · 14/09/2018 17:54

Definitely worth it! Do it yourself though, as pp said, go through Martin Lewis site. I did and unexpectedly got £700 back. We are in the process of going through a ppi company as there is definitely more we can claim for but cannot find any docs/credit card numbers at all as they were destroyed years ago during several house moves. They are pretty useless to be fair, they keep messaging asking for account numbers/credit card numbers etc before they can make the claim. All the info that I don’t have and if I did have, I would be making the claim myself!!

flumposie · 14/09/2018 17:58

Can anyone answer a 'stupid' question for me as to whether I have a claim. when we took out our mortgage with a broker we bought cover for if we lost our jobs / critical illness. She explained it all to us so we knew what we were signing up for. Is this PPI ? did we buy into something that is not worth it. Is that why people make claims or is it they didn't know they had it. Thanks.

NoLeslie · 14/09/2018 18:01

Finally on this thread I've found someone else who never had PPI. I always read the small print. I would like compensation for all the time PPI has taken from my life though!!

PattiStanger · 14/09/2018 18:01

Given that you hardly have to do anything to find out if you are owed anything in what way would it not be worthwhile?

Sandstormbrewing · 14/09/2018 18:05

Do it yourself! It's really easy.

I got £72 back.

CurcubitaPepo · 14/09/2018 18:12

It’s always worth claiming.
I’ve had £1800 this year from two companies and I ummed and ahd for years about putting a claim in. As others have said, don’t use a claims company, it’s easy to do yourself.

I knew I’d had it with the Halifax and I submitted a request to obtain the ppi policy numbers, then filled out an online form.

With Barclays is was unaware whether I did or not. I submitted a request to check whether I’d ever had ppi. They confirmed I had so I took it from there.

There are forums on moneysavingexpert which you can post on.

Your mum has nothing to loose. It’s not particularly time consuming and you get a decision within a few weeks.

Good luck!

HairyAntoinette · 14/09/2018 18:17

I can't get anywhere. Despite having a genuinely unique name... Financial institutions deny all knowledge of me. Hmm

vanillapieandicecream · 14/09/2018 18:17

I did it myself, it was very easy and I got back over £5k

DarklyDreamingDexter · 14/09/2018 18:18

Yes, do it! But don't use one of those annoying firms that take 50% commission or whatever, just for filling in a form. Look at the link on the money saving expert website and download the form. It's dead easy. I got £1000 from one company and £9000 from another!

Oblomov18 · 14/09/2018 18:19

I can't believe I'm entitled to anything.

Dorkdiary · 14/09/2018 23:47

Thanks everyone.
Is this the correct site please?

I've never had any PPI because I never had credit cards or loans or anything when I was younger, I only have an interest free CC now for larger purchases and I clear the balance each month. My old line manager was notoriously terrible with money and got £16k back!!! So it depends on your previous lending behaviours.

tigercub50 · 14/09/2018 23:57

I got around £800 & DH around £7K. Will try again to see if there are any hidden things!

JustlikeDevon · 15/09/2018 00:58

I used a company because I'm a procrastinating twat and would not have got round to it otherwise. With their 30% cut still got over 5k.

StopCloudSeeding · 15/09/2018 01:02

Yes. Used Gladstone Brooks because I'm too busy to do it myself. Got £1k. After paying them. Go for it!

Mammyloveswine · 15/09/2018 08:05

We just got a cheque today for 1600 quid!
