Yes definately do it, I got back £2700 for my Mum and it didn’t take very long. Do it sooner rather than later as it can take 12 weeks or so and I know they have issued a deadline to claim now, think that might be next August.

I got over 3k back just by sending a form I found online to my bank.

SwordToFlamethrower · 15/09/2018 08:15

I remembered where I had my old bank accounts and credit cards/loans etc.
Made a list of the banks then googled "bank PPI claim form" went to the bank direct online. It took about half an hour. Waiting to see what I get.
Easy!

Here’s the MSE page to start on - I think you start there and then go to resolver.

dav yy, I'm fairly certain I never had any as I knew they'd never pay out. I've always had MH issues and that's a big no-no with insurance companies.

Ikabod · 15/09/2018 08:21

I'm just like @JustlikeDevon. I got about 6k after paying the commission... I'm not sure they did that much more than filling out a few forms for me though.

1099 · 15/09/2018 08:21

Yes do it, same as other posters, I was adamant for years that I'd never had it, filled in a form on the banks website and 5k later very pleased I did.

dementedma · 15/09/2018 08:22

we got 2.5K which was a godsend.

What if you've had lots of loans and credit cards over the years and moved house a lot and can't remember and if the details?

yetanothernane · 15/09/2018 09:10

I work for a ppi company. They way I see it, is you've got nothing to loose.
Most companies will do a free check (you can then cancel once they have confirmed ppi). Get them to tell you the names of the lenders, the account number, types of finance and the dates of the ppi and then go to the lender with the above info and say you want to reclaim.

I've seen claims from pennies for hundreds of thousands.

I'm finding the Plevin rule quite hard to grasp... Do I just use the Resolver tool or do I do a Plevin claim?

Not sure whether I'm owed or not....
