To ask if you believe in the afterlife?

My dm and I believe when you pass there is another better place you go to. Df disagrees and says when you are gone that's it.
I nearly died giving birth to ds (complications and pre eclampsia) and I know I was drifting somewhere lovely but was told I was too young and it was not my time and turned back. I awoke to chaos and pain and was very disappointed.
Some people will say it's the drugs you get in labour but I have had a few woo encounters over the years when I have been in a clear mind.
So what do you believe? Aibu there is something more after we die?
And that dearly loved pets will be there.
(Maybe not heaven but something).

I'm not sure really how it could be an interesting thread. You have the believers, who believe regardless because that's what faith means. And the non believers, who see no reason to believe in any sort of afterlife. It's all about what happens when you get to the edge of the abyss. People of faith say "I believe!" and jump-in the certain knowledge that someone will catch them. Non believers don't jump until they've had a good look and made sure there's an actual physical safety net of some sort. And if there isn't, they don't jump.

You've accused her of seeming arrogant, of always insulting Christians, of being able to give it out but not take it, you said you would take no notice of her, and you maintained the truth of your accusations and refused to apologise when called out on it.

Well Gersemi has just lied about me too. I don’t get too het up about it and i’m not demanding apologies. I don’t set out to insult people, however as a Christian i get insulted all the time.

No I bloody didn't. So it's just as well you're not demanding apologies. However, by making that totally unfounded accusation, it certainly looks like the allegation that you don't set out to insult people is a direct untruth.

Wow that escalated quickly! Well it did get people talking and *@sweethope *I am inclined to agree with you. My dm is Christian and there are plenty of things that cannot be explained away by science and cynicism.
