We always say in the week, we'll do something go for a walk etc but come Sunday we always end up basically slobbing out in our pyjamas watching cheesy TV movies or having an ncis/friends marathon. My teenager uses her Sunday as her studying/homework day and my little one loves having the day with her toys. This morning was doing the same thing but this afternoon I've got the whole family tidying up, I'm doing the living room, kids their rooms and DP doing the kitchen. I've said its something I feel maybe we do weekly. Does anyone have anything specific they do on a Sunday?x

An hour at the allotment.
A Sunday roast.

zukiecat · 09/09/2018 18:30

Off sick at the moment, but my usual Sunday is:

Get up at 6.30am to start work at 8am at the small supermarket I work in, finish at 2 or 3pm.

Come home, and collapse into bed as I am usually utterly exhausted.

I'm quite enjoying having lazy Sundays for a change

JustHereForThePooStories · 09/09/2018 18:32

DH has depression, I don’t. I’d very happily slob around all day on Sunday and not step foot outside the front door, but he struggles with that and needs more activity to keep his mind occupied.

We usually have a lie-in, then a walk or drive somewhere nice, before heading home for a nice evening meal and some shite telly. Works for the both of us.

JustHereForThePooStories · 09/09/2018 18:33

Oh yeah, and fresh bedsheets every Sunday night! Plus a shower before bed so fresh skin on fresh cotton. Fab!

HenryInTheTunnel · 09/09/2018 18:46

Me DH and 1yo DS

Pot of proper coffee and a croissant or fry up at my parents'
Pop out somewhere e.g garden centre or park to try and keep DS going so that he had a late, longer nap and we can relax for a bit or get some housework done
Sunday roast prep while DS plays
Eat
Usual bedtime routine
I like a fancy bath with something to watch on my ipad
Then DH and i will have a cuppa on the sofa with some Sunday Night drama (The Bodyguard)

Sparklesocks · 09/09/2018 18:48

We have a lie in and then a lovely fry up mid morning.
If the weather is nice we often go for a walk in woods or to a nature area (we are in Kent so a lot of lovely big parks or nature reserved to explore). Maybe a country pub lunch once in a while.
At home we do light housework and do things like washing ready for the week.
And in the evening we will watch a film on Netflix with a glass of wine.

I also like to have my beauty night on a Sunday, I’ll do a face mask and paint my nails and get into some fresh PJs ready for bed. Love it!

Dollymixture22 · 09/09/2018 18:50

Here is something about autumn and Sunday night telly!! It demands an Apple crumble and custards. Maybe just me?

Babyroobs · 09/09/2018 18:52

DD usually has a football match so dh takes her to that and stays to watch whilst I walk the dogs. then have lunch and always have a roast in the evening.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 09/09/2018 18:57

Our Sundays are a mixture of pottering and lazing. DH normally plays golf or visits the driving range early morning. I usually find an excuse to visit the garden centre and mentally spend my entire monthly salary on plants that I want Grin. A wee bit of housework gets done - I do laundry and tidying, DH washes up and does the ironing.

Evenings are sofa, TV, a glass of fizz or a beer to mentally wave off the week and look forward to the start of the next one, and something nice and comforting for dinner.

Strawberrybelly · 09/09/2018 19:11

I'm always in work on Sunday's.

HollySwift · 09/09/2018 19:13

Sundays are PJ days wherever possible, though we often go for a swim too.

I always clean and I often bake too. I enjoy both immensely, especially the end result [grin

DC and I always have a bath Sunday nights ready for the week and then we all snuggle up and watch a film. Once DC are in bed DH and I will catch up on whatever TV series we’re watching - Bodyguard tonight!

HollySwift · 09/09/2018 19:13

Oh and Sunday breakfast is always centered around bacon haha!

Stompythedinosaur · 09/09/2018 19:15

Sunday night is pizza and games night chez Stompy! Then I put the dc in the bath and to bed while dp irons their uniform for the week.

CharDeeMacDennis · 09/09/2018 19:23

Wake up whenever
Pot of fresh coffee
Take back to bed and watch episode of Gilmore Girls (currently)

I mean, I do the above every day, except for the wake up whenever part, but it feels nicer on a Sunday, especially if it's raining Smile. I just like the no-one-can-bother-me-today feeling.

I do sometimes have to work, but not usually an early start, so.

Ski4130 · 09/09/2018 19:29

We have a lie in, brunch, take the dog for a walk then dc1 and dc2 have football matches and dc3 has a two hour gym class. Sundays, other than the mornings, are just as busy as the rest of the week here 😀

ohreallyohreallyoh · 09/09/2018 19:31

Lie in. Long shower. Visit my mum in her care home. Do ironing for week. Sort work bag. Go to sleep thinking about the week’s work ahead.

NaToth · 09/09/2018 19:32

We do all sorts during the day. Today I've been in the garden and then we've visited an attraction that's open for the first of the Heritage Weekend,

The one thing we a,ways do is go for a drink about 5:00pm. We've done that and are home now. Dinner, papers and bed..

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 09/09/2018 19:35

DC all run junior parkrun on a Sunday morning so we’re up and away to the park for 9.20am. (I miss lie-ins!)

Then we head home for a quick change before church.

Afternoons are more ad hoc - there’s never any food in the house by a Sunday so we often go out for lunch to the garden centre or local pub, then a quick whip around Sainsburys to get packed lunch stuff for Monday. After that it’s anyone’s guess.

DS goes back out to youth group on Sunday evening so DH & I are taxi drivers once again!

I’d love a lazy day but to be honest the DC would probably bicker all day anyway if we had no plans.

museumum · 09/09/2018 19:35

We all do some exercise - swimming lessons, ski lesson, a cycle and a long run between us all. Then dinner together (don’t do this often in the week).

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 19:36

In pyjamas all day, the DC play on their tablets and watch YouTube, I MN on my phone.

Wauden · 09/09/2018 19:50

Listen to the Archers Omnibus and may be to some Paddy just before. Do the washing with naice Ecover products. Maybe watch some Monkey World or have a nap. Chat with friends for about two hours on the phone. Watch whatever quality tv, now Vanity Fair. Potter about. Fix things for work.

ratspeaker · 09/09/2018 19:55

Wander about on the Prom, watch the wild swimmers go into the Forth.

Listen to Hairy Bikers on Planet Rock whilst cleaning out rat cages.

BitchQueen90 · 09/09/2018 20:02

We're early risers (6am-7am) and we go out for a walk every Sunday morning for a couple of hours. Get home about 11am and start the prep for the roast dinner. Have dinner about 2pm and spend the rest of the day watching telly.

Sunday is my absolute favourite day of the week. Saturdays are always so busy, we do activities/go to visit family and DS has swimming lessons in the late afternoon so Sunday is our proper "relax" day.

Mumofazoo · 09/09/2018 20:03

Up early and turn out and muck out all our horses and ponies, then a nice big full English. Then I’ll have a cuppa and read the papers. Then it’s time for myself and dc to go on a hack. Then I make the Sunday roast while pottering around little horseshoe cottage. After roast it’s time to turn in the neds and feed them. Then it’s a board game with the dc before bathtime a film and then bed.

Bimgy85 · 09/09/2018 20:04

Every second Sunday or so we go for a carvery dinner, followed by a wander around town or random shops like mr price or furniture shops. Followed by relaxing on the sofa or in bed watching movies!

Or a productive Sunday would be dinner, followed by food shopping in aldi, clearing out presses/fridges, getting washing done, batch food prep, changing and washing bins
