To expect panty liners to be unscented

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with the people who thought perfumed sanitary products were a good idea? I just bought some Always Dailies for my 10-year-old as she's just hitting puberty....but nowhere on the pack does it say they are scented. I didn't realise until I got home. Gross! It's such a nasty chemical smell...like floor cleaner. Does anyone know which brands (if any) make unscented slim liners?

Why don't you just talk to her about the tissues in her pants, OP? Find out why she's using them and if necessary reassure her. Just be matter of fact about it.

Re the message it sends, I just think we get sold early on the idea that we have to keep on spending money to make ourselves "acceptable" and daily pantyliners are one of those things we're told we should wear to keep ourselves "fresh", whereas for most people pants are fine - it's OK to get them "dirty", that's what they're for!

As for scented panty liners, surely they would only be necessary if a) we smell b) that smell is nasty and we should hide it, both of which are troubling for me.

Agree awful esp when they don't tell us.

I can't only suggest writing to them to let gem know hopefully enough people won't like it and write too
