Beautiful house on rightmove...

NC because I've just text a friend about this.

I have a weird/nosy habit of looking at quirkily decorated houses on Rightmove Blush

I've just seen a stunningly beautiful house for sale and thought oh this is the type of house where xxxxx (celeb I admire) would live. So I scrolled through their twitter feed and it is their house!

It's been up for sale for a few months but the story isn't anywhere online. AIBU to tell you about it/post the link so we can all coo over it? Or is that an invasion of their privacy?

Funky flat, awful view.

Much prefer this for £1milliom less: www.rightmove.co.uk/s6p/66181348. A boot room, a 3 bed detached granny annexe, a section of the River Dart and a helipad. What's not to love?

BananaToffo · 04/09/2018 20:32

Oh!!!

I saw this a few months ago (choosing my lottery house when I win) and I INSTANTLY thought DB from the paintings. Seems I was right Smile

Gorgeous house for a gorgeous man.

DailyMailWankers · 04/09/2018 20:34

I'm glad it isn't just me who does it!

Vendor obviously getting in before Brexit!

The decor is quirky and not to everyone's taste though that can be changed.

I ahem, "love" the marvellous views of the tower blocks, uninterrupted too.

I know it's location and all that, but honestly 5mill is a lot to ask for this. Would the price be aspirational or achievable, do any Shoreditch and related area London residents know?

RedAntsBiteHard · 04/09/2018 20:48

Some of those other right move properities are really lovely, but with my spare 5 mill, I think i'll stick to the 2 bed in London - a lot cheaper maintenance costs than the country piles !!

BananaToffo · 04/09/2018 20:48

I like this one. Not quite as amazing, but lovely

Banana,

It's lovely. But if I had all that money the first thing on the list would be a decent outside space.

Seems the DB flat has this, but it costs an extra 2mill ha ha. Just goes to show doesn't it.

Writersblock2 · 04/09/2018 22:11

Oh I love it. Those books!!!!

Thelastredwinegum · 04/09/2018 22:28

I'd rather have this www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-70434215.html
& spend some of the £4m + left over decorating.

chugging · 04/09/2018 22:40

I have a theory that you can tell when it's a celebs house for sale because the photos are watermarked with the agents name in case they get picked up by the papers.

deadcat · 04/09/2018 23:01

Those paintings are horrible.

Rest of the place is lovely. As if should be for 5 million!

seventhgonickname · 04/09/2018 23:31

All I could think if was about how many cleaners it takes to keep this dust free with all the clutter.Every available bit if space is filled with stuff and not in a good way.

Lellochip · 04/09/2018 23:54

To be fair, Derren Brown can probably sell his house for whatever price he fancies, and convince the buyer they're getting a bargain 😄

Chipshopninja · 04/09/2018 23:56

Half the price, twice the size and not in London (win win win!)

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 05/09/2018 00:00

I wouldn't fancy dusting all those glasses and things in picture 16!

Diffident · 05/09/2018 00:06

I was at school with Darren Brown as he was then known. He was known for drawing cartoons of teachers, amongst other things.

babbscrabbs · 05/09/2018 00:06

Thelastredwinegum hope they spend some of the proceeds from the sale on some new chairs and sofas... Wtf are those purple things??

You get a country estate near me...and some change. Plus extra houses for the rellies..Grin

MovingThisYearHopefully · 05/09/2018 00:26

What a mess! Not my taste at all, except the cinema room. Love DB though.

sueelleker · 05/09/2018 12:10

I want the bookshelves!

RandomObject · 05/09/2018 12:17

Bit cluttered in decor for my taste but some beautiful features!

I hate that cinema room though.

nononsene · 05/09/2018 12:18

@Polkerrisbeach that has to be the best house castle I've seen on the property threads. Wish it could be mine!!

Rebecca36 · 05/09/2018 12:24

It is nice. I like the little garden and the roof garden. Dislike the beams on the kitchen ceiling, my personal taste but I find beams oppressive. Also not keen, from what I could see, on the wooden staircase especially if you can see through it on the way up.

Other than that, a good house.

magoria · 05/09/2018 12:36

Not for me apart from the bookcases. Lucky we all have different tastes.

londonmummy1966 · 05/09/2018 12:54

Sadly, even if gets the asking price on his house he is going to struggle to find much more than the deposit for this one
