To wonder how much MLM reps *really* make?

Firstly I absolutely 100% DO NOT want to be a rep for any MLM. Even if they made a squillion pounds a year I don't think it would be worth it for having to create a Facebook group and post cringey quotes all day.

Anyway, I do use some Tropic stuff and I'm also part of a Body Shop group as now and again the rep does good discounts on stuff I'd buy from the store anyway. The latter often posts redacted wage slips from her 'boss' with £3,000 a month - HOW?! From what I see most people buy a shampoo now and again for about £4 a bottle! I certainly never spend more than about £6 with her. She's trying to tout £5 make-up bags today and has been challenged to sell 5 apparently.

The Tropic stuff is a bit dearer and the 'ambassador' (🤪) talks about holidays to South Africa and getting fancy cars (again with mentions of the elusive boss) but again most people spend the odd £25 and if they only make 25% then they can't be getting more than a couple of hundred quid a month. Even if they sold 5 times that much, it's £1,000 a month, and her boss allegedly does that as a full time job!

How much do they actually earn?

I don't get annoyed by much but these people really grip my shit.

Sometimes I will comment on their posts to say I am interested, just to question them. Sad really but as I say, they infuriate me.

My friend started off as an Avon lady donkey years ago...probably over 20 and now has ‘ downliners’ I think they’re called under her
She gets about £900 every three weeks
She works jolly hard for it
Out in all weathers recruiting, selling
On her feet all day
It amazes me it’s still so populated
I know they’ve diversified into ‘ stuff’ as well as toiletries
But she has her regulars still.
What on Earth do they do with it all.

What I don't understand is how anyone falls for it! I have someone on my timeline who is into MLM and after I read the blog mentioned above I really enjoy playing MLM bingo on her posts!

I had a friend who promoted Juice plus with her 'hubby'; eventually I had to remove her as a friend from Facebook (and indeed my life) when she claimed 'if you don't give your kids juice plus chewables you're a bad parent'. The fool.
They've been into various MLMs since then, think the latest is trying to sell insurance of some kind to people. And 'Bitcoin'. According to her husbands Facebook he is 'a star of the small screen and a future Bitcoin millionaire'. They've been in take a break for not living together 😂

I have a few of these on Facebook always claiming it has changed their lives. One in particular whose dp works full time.
She says it has changed her life but she looks no better off.
I wonder how she can afford to do it or if they claim benefits as not working

I'm an Avon lady... is Avon mlm??

Anyway, I don't make much - maybe about £50 every three weeks (each "campaign")

I don't do much for it though - my ds takes the catalogues round the doors, I collect them (or people message me an order) I then deliver when the order comes in. So when you add up the hours I put in it's not a bad rate.

Threeminis · 05/09/2018 13:22

It has in no way changed my life! But I get free makeup and we tend to save the money for holiday spending

I know (vaguely) someone who is very high up in a MLM and makes over 10k per month. I have no idea whether people actually buy the product from her but she has a huge team/downlink of over 2 thousand people so this is where she makes her money I'm sure.
