Anyone else horrified by alarming amount in dyson handheld?

Every time I use it, perhaps 3/4 times a week it's filled with hideousness! I clean a normal amount and we are not a particularly messy family, but I now have dyson shame every single use. Please tell me it's not just me? If it is I'm reverting to the Henry Hoover where the shame is hidden Grin

I have two very messy kids (think crisps, biscuit crumbs, glitter, sand, mud, grass) and am a slattern so mine fills up straight away when I use it. I am scared to do the mattresses now though...Blush

BillThePony · 04/09/2018 22:43

I have an Air Ram, it's so satisfying to empty.

Did feel a bit bad earlier when I vacuumed under the sofa and there was a spider rattling around in it after. It didn't survive.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 04/09/2018 22:45

My dyson is gopping disgusting. We have a dog though that's my excuse

wonderstar1216 · 04/09/2018 22:48

Oh my shark is just bliss! I bought the one with 2 batteries so I can lots of hoovering time! I am super impressed, far far better than my dyson!

Thehop · 04/09/2018 22:49

I bought a shark hoover last year. The stuff it drags up is DISGUSTING

do your mattress!!!

SwedishEdith · 04/09/2018 22:52

Is this only on carpets? Interested in the Shark one.

DaisyDando · 04/09/2018 22:53

I’ve got a Roomba and it’s great. Watching and emptying. Sometimes rescuing.

CalmConfident · 04/09/2018 22:54

Ok...tell me more about sharks. Need a new vacuum, lots of hard floors as well as carpet. Which model to go for? No.pets!

Singlebutmarried · 04/09/2018 22:55

Oooh mattress (that’s so on the list for this week)

My dyson fills quickly too and I’ve 2 big dogs who shower hair everywhere.

But it’s fab for stairs, also I sweep a few times a day (flooring downstairs not carpet) so I dread to think what it’d be like if I didn’t.

maddening · 04/09/2018 23:10

I got my shark half price in the Amazon sale, so it was £199 and I got a spare battery for £69 .

I like doing the slut drop to get under the sofa etc 😍

I have a shark and like other posters the first time I used it my carpet looked brand new Grin it’s shocking how much dirt can be around without you realising

Lucked · 04/09/2018 23:19

I have a roomba which does the hall, dining room and lounge daily. It has a small dirt box but it is full every day

flopsyrabbit1 · 04/09/2018 23:21

once you have done your carpet a few times i just dont get how it still picks up loads

its the gift that keeps giving it seems

PanamaPattie · 04/09/2018 23:25

The first time I used my Shark, it took the print off the laminate! I've bought a rug to cover the white patches.

GummyGoddess · 05/09/2018 07:31

Never got on with the shark, why do some of you prefer it to a Dyson?

Bordercollies · 05/09/2018 10:10

I had a cylinder upright dyson that was so wide i couldnt use it on the stairs without it falling off. It was so heavy too. I bought a handheld cordless dyson which was terrible. It can barely suck up cobwebs! I managed as i didnt have a lot of carpet. Ive recently got all new carpets put down so went and got a shark after all my friends recommended them. Its amazing. The cylinder lifts off so the stairs is easy. It has a powered handheld bit so furniture is easy. It gets cobwebs out of any nook and cranny. Its so powerful it made my slightly knackered stair carpet look new (it was professionally cleaned a couple of months ago and looked better after the shark) and....... it has headlights!!!!!

agedknees · 05/09/2018 11:02

Love my shark. On number 2 now as my first shark tried to kill me o the stairs (helped by the dog).

Have a shark lift away. Lovely long electric cable, easy to empty, great on carpets/hard floor. What’s not to like?

Had a dyson before which just fell to pieces all the time.

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 05/09/2018 11:13

Shockingly huge amount here too. I know we have a dog but it's like a tornado whirls through daily and I don't see it.

flopsyrabbit1 · 05/09/2018 14:32

i like the dyson because its so light V7 and a 2yr guarantee and considering how much its used thats a plus
