to think that sex offenders should forfeit the right to change gender

Gary Cooper raped multiple girls by posing as a 15yo girl called Carrie.

AIBU to think that as part of sex offender rehabilitation it's dangerous to allow him the delusion that he is, or ever can be, a female called Carrie? And not to mention insulting to the victims in view of the fact that he committed these offences because he is male and they are female?

Sexual violence offenders always seem to know that biological sex matters when deciding who to harm.

Then their view suddenly changes so they can have access to the sex they have violently assaulted. Hmm. Convenient.

@WrongOnTInternet No, my issue is that the OP is saying that the offender committed her crimes because she was born male and had a penis. So as she now doesn't want to be male nor have a penis, I'm curious about whether the OP believes this would have prevented the crime.

Transwomen are male. Only males can rape under the British legal definition because rape is defined as unwanted penetration by a penis (women can rape via joint enterprise only). Only males have peni.

No, it is not a woman that committed that crime. It was a male, a full bodied male.
Even if you believe in this modern assertion that chopping off dicks means men can miraculously become women, much as bread miraculously becomes flesh in certain archaic religions, he did this before that occurred.

I'm merely pointing out the logical inconsistencies in the OP's premise that maleness causes rape and their use of a trans-woman is evidence for that. If maleness were the main cause of rape then all men would be rapists. & the fact that there are women (whether they're cis or trans) who sexually assault people also goes against the OP's premise.

@TheBeatGoesOnAndOn - Yes, it would be absurd to put a rapist into a woman's prison.

However, if they were genuine in their conviction of wanting to change gender then I would not think a male prison would be safe for them. So there would need to be a trans-only wing to a prison somewhere.

Yes I would go along with a transgender Ward in a male prison or perhaps put transgender prisoners in with other people who have to be specially protected.

Does anyone know which prison the trans man who was recently convicted for fake sex with two women has been sent to?
