Paid almost £40 for the picture advertised and today got the following delivered. (To clarify the flowers I received are in the pink wrapping). They are meant to be for a relative who knitted us a lot of baby clothes.

Terrible! You need a refund!

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 29/08/2018 16:00

M&S oriental lilies are usually a good bet. Even if none of them are open when you buy them, the person you give them to will get weeks of enjoyment out of them.

Stephisaur · 29/08/2018 16:03

Interflora are usually very good. I've not had an issue like this with them before, so I would definitely complain!!

M&S flowers are excellent quality though, the recipient will be very pleased with them.

BadBear · 29/08/2018 16:05

I know someone who used to work for Interflora as a delivery driver and he said he was often embarrassed delivering bouquets to people as they looked like nothing in the pictures. He used to encourage people to complain so go for it, definitely not worth £40!

RuleBreaker · 29/08/2018 16:07

The lilies are there but it looks like you’re missing the roses?

stayathomer · 29/08/2018 16:07

Terrible that any business would even try to get away with sending that instead of the picture they had up

billybagpuss · 29/08/2018 16:08

Awful and it looks like their rose delivery van broke down.

NoLightInTheTunnel · 29/08/2018 16:09

I've learned my lesson with places like Interflora as well Sad. Now, I contact a local small florists and place the order directly with them. Works out cheaper and I'm helping out a local business without the exhorbitant Interflora costs.

ToadOfSadness · 29/08/2018 16:09

I had a similar one sent to me recently, different colours and was very disappointed (Interflora again). The flowers lasted a day before dropping and were dead within 3 days. That was after I had removed the cat killer lilies that they always add to them.

I have actually requested no more Interflora, would prefer a supermarket bunch that are not dead. Perhaps someone made a mistake and sent the wrong one in your case though.

TomHardysNextWife · 29/08/2018 16:10

My mum used to be an Interflora florist. They are basically a clearing house and take 1/3 of your money for sending the order to a local florist. From the 2/3s you have left, you have to take out your wrapping and time taken..... a hand tied bouquet can take 20 minutes to make and wrap nicely. So from £40 you can get as little as £18 for the actual flowers.

Trying googling a local florist next time, you'll get far better value for money if you want delivery. Lots of florists now use FloristPro to host their own websites and they don't charge for anything other than the web hosting so it's a much better system.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 29/08/2018 16:12

£40 Shock
Bloom and Wild are brilliant imo. I've used them quite a few times and have had some delivered to me, they were beautiful and lasted ages.

LightTripper · 29/08/2018 16:13

I think they'll look better in a day or two when the lillies and spikes open, but there seem to be 2 gerberas rather than 3 and no rose (only one in the original photo though, they've staged that cleverly). The colours are also just less classy to my eye but I guess that's in the eye of the beholder.

I would definitely complain on the basis of the missing flowers (fine, I get they may need to substitute, but I can't see anything obviously substituted there).

I've received nice Interflora bunches before (yes, you only ever get £15 of flowers for your £40 but that's the nature of the thing with IF margin and delivery costs/overhead) so I think you've been unlucky, and I think based on your photo they should offer you at least £10 back or a chunkier voucher.

RB68 · 29/08/2018 16:21

All florists will take a direct order on the phone and CC pyt - pointless using interflora really - I find a florist local to where my recipient is phone em up and order, pay by card. I will try and have a good look at their website etc too to get a flavour of their style

Loopylou6 · 29/08/2018 16:22

Yes, if your relative has cats, please avoid giving bouquets that contain lilies, they are toxic to cats
Oh btw, deffo complain, that is shocking

Cutesbabasmummy · 29/08/2018 16:23

Totally different flowers. I would ask for a refund. Or the bouquet you ordered.

EdisonLightBulb · 29/08/2018 16:25

I ordered M&S online for a friend and they were stunning. I don't use Interflora though as they are only as good as the local florist that gets the order.

PS - the vet told me lillies are OK is you remove the stamen. But then to do that you ruin the flower and stain everything including your hands.

longwayoff · 29/08/2018 16:31

Shocking. Absolute rip off. Interflora is frequrntly disappointing. Marks excellent in mythe experience

DontCallMeCharlotte · 29/08/2018 16:36

A friend sent me a little rose plant from Bloom & Wild when I had a bereavement back in February. It was in bud when it arrived. I later planted it in a larger pot in the garden and it's now about three foot tall and has bloomed constantly since I had it. I would definitely recommend them.

Vitalogy · 29/08/2018 16:37

No, there's no lillies or roses the most expensive flowers. Yes, I'd ring them up about it.

Bluelady · 29/08/2018 16:40

Complain and ask for a refund, those look like garage flowers. Bloom and Wild are lovely.

PlatypusPie · 29/08/2018 16:44

I’ve generally had good experience with Interflora but if sending to someone regularly, it’s a good idea to find a good florist local to them and order direct. When I was sending them to my mother in a care home , the local florist would take a picture when the bouquet was about to be delivered and send it to me so that I could talk about it with my mother. So kind.

M & S in store can be nice but quality seems to vary wildly - I sent with them once and then discovered they were using Yodel :( Delivery went the most peculiar, roundabout way and only just made it at the very end of the birthday, as the recipient was coming home from a celebratory dinner !

PlatypusPie · 29/08/2018 16:45

Meant to say - no, that bunch is appalling.

Pop into a local florist - you'll get a much nicer, bespoke arrangement for the same money.

MrsTommyBanks · 29/08/2018 16:54

No I'd be really pissed off.
