DH went to Lidl last night. Bought this flour... I’ve just found the hole...
Was the hole there last night? If so do I speak to the shop/ take it back? but if it was why did the bag not empty itself all the way home?
The bag was left on the counter overnight? Did the hole appear then? What made the hole?

No other evidence of overnight visitors with teeth ( and been here 5 years without an invasion before.

AIBU to pretend I didnt notice it and make DD’s birthday pizza?

Where there are mice there is pee & poo. Is there somewhere they could be getting in?

By all means tell Lidl or return the bag. In my experience they'll refund no questions asked but are singularly uninterested.

It looks very neatly circular to me? Don't know if it just looks that way in the photo. Would it be a less regular shape if it was a mouse? However definitely throw it

Was the empty bag was kept on the counter overnight? After you’d tipped it into the container yesterday?

LeighaJ · 29/08/2018 11:55

Whatever caused it did so in your house, it's not the stores fault as there would have been a trailing mess of flour. Flour bags rip and tear Very easily.

If you have a nearby corner shop they might have flour.

SoupDragon · 29/08/2018 11:58

There is no way that happened to a full bag of flour. Flour would be all over the carrier bag and you’d have noticed when you picked it up to pour it into the plastic box.

I still couldn’t use th flour though!

Zippitydoodar · 29/08/2018 12:00

Could be a rat. We had a half eaten turnip on the kitchen table that's how we knew we had a rat. I'd leave something out tonight then you'll know.

LarkDescending · 29/08/2018 12:20

Yeah there’s no way the bag was holed before the upending, surely - you’d have had flour everywhere. So a visitor has presumably got into the empty bag and nibbled it from the inside.

HazelBite · 29/08/2018 12:22

I have seen slugs and snails decimate paper but thays a very regular shaped hole!

Mummyoflittledragon · 29/08/2018 12:31

I preferred the mouse theory. Have you burnt the house down to get rid of the spider?

MeMyselfand · 29/08/2018 12:36

Do you think the Elf on the shelf has escaped and is running amok early? I blame the weather, nobody knows whether they are coming or going 🙄

Leesa65 · 29/08/2018 13:04

Hahaha

Love MeMyselfand explanation there Grin

Holymosquito · 29/08/2018 14:29

The hole was in the bag before the contents were emptied... but hardly a trace of flour... Wish people would stop with the spider theories -I’m seriously aracnaphobic.

Or sprinkle some of that now-inedible flour on the same counter and see if there are tracks tomorrow morning. Ugh.
