Angry

He stacks the draining rack so high aibu to be annoyed by this?!

He also has the inability to actually wash everything, there is always a spoon or something left unwashed in the bowl. Grrr!!

DH doesn't, DS doesn't, but I do. Blush

clockworklime · 26/08/2018 10:27

It’s a clever ploy to annoy you into doing it yourself

annandale · 26/08/2018 10:28

My dh did the washing-up origami version.

Entire board tidily stacked in order, no risk of china cascade - but zero actual washing up done.

golddustwomen · 26/08/2018 10:31

Yes my oh! And guaranteed I have to re wash at least 3 things as there's still food on them. So annoying !
I agree with above that's it's done on purpose.

letsdolunch321 · 26/08/2018 10:31

Mine doesn’t wash anything properly, he has to be on drying up duty 🙄

QueenOfMyWorld · 26/08/2018 10:31

This is why I'm so thankful I've got a dishwasher

MoltenLight · 26/08/2018 10:32

I do it, and it’s not because I want DP to do it for me Hmm it’s becayse I’m too lazy to dry up and then do the rest of it. I get more done if I play jenga with it Wink

Bombaybunty · 26/08/2018 10:33

It's the sort of thing I would do but we have a dishwasher.
I do like a bit of supermarket conveyor belt Buckaroo though.

theymademejoin · 26/08/2018 10:34

Dh does this but in a structured, organised way. It's amazing how high he can stack with no danger of anything falling. It's a thing of beauty to behold.

I, on the other hand, am incapable of this. I end up having to dry some dishes in the middle in order to avoid an avalanche.

Mrsglitterfairy · 26/08/2018 10:38

Haha my DH does this too. If there are dishes already on the draining rack he never puts these away so ends up putting the newly washed dishes on top of the dry ones. And he also manages to leave a couple of bits, especially if it isn’t right next to the sink, he won’t look around for anything else! A vast improvement though on when we first moved in almost 12 years ago, he didn’t have a clue how to do the dishes (or any other housework)

Uncreative · 26/08/2018 10:39

If my DH put anything on the dish rack after washing, I put it in the dishwasher as soon as possible. He does try but is completely incapable of actually washing something clean. There is always a smudge of food or grease streaks or something on the dishes.

MonoClue · 26/08/2018 10:41

Neither of my ex’s so much as rinsed a cup!Angry (one of many reasons they are ex’s)
I’m guilty of always stacking by order and size. I end up with a sort of crockery bonsai mountain Grin
I also indulge in freezer Tetris.

funmummy48 · 26/08/2018 10:43

We call it draining board Jenga in our house and regard it as a proper sport, with a score sheet stuck to the fridge. Youngest daughter is currently too of the leader board. Extra points are awarded for height and artistic talent. You need to embrace the challenge!

attentionspan · 26/08/2018 10:48

Freezer Tetris and washing-up buckaroo also played in our house.

We are also fond of cleaning-cupboard-under-the-sink chess, which can also be played with toiletries in the bathroom.

MeyMary · 26/08/2018 10:49

No he doesn't. He always cleans the kitchen after I cook.

I cook about 9.9 times of 10. So he pretty much always does the cleanup. He's good at it, I suppose.

avocuddl · 26/08/2018 10:51

@funmummy48 this is not fun!! Have you had any casualties? We've had a few chipped plates as a result 🤦🏽‍♀️

JumblieGirl · 26/08/2018 10:57

That’s me, creating candidates for the Tate Modern. Never had a slide. DD is Jedi level at Freezer Tetris, her skills extend to suitcase packing and stockroom tardis at work.
DH just has a disbelieving stare, he likes order.

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 26/08/2018 11:00

Ugh. Mine doesn't wash anything properly, food bits left on everything and he leaves soap on the dishes, everything stood up still holding water rather than tipping them upside down or on an angle to let the water drain away. Although he pretty much IS Frank Spencer Grin

funmummy48 · 26/08/2018 11:02

No casualties as all the china items go in the dishwasher. 😉

TyneTeas · 26/08/2018 11:05

Draining board Jenga for us is when no-one is putting the washing-up away and you have to carefully extract whatever dish or pan you need from the tower

DameSquashalot · 26/08/2018 11:05

Yes. On the incredibly rare occasion that he washes up

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 26/08/2018 11:07

I do this as we have a tiny draining board and I don't want to have to dry anything up.

EdisonLightBulb · 26/08/2018 11:09

No, but he rams them in the dishwasher in a ridiculous was so they never wash clean.

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/08/2018 11:10

We have laundry pile Jenga and plastic container ker-plunk

PinkHeart5914 · 26/08/2018 11:12

It should be a law everyone has to have a dishwasher imo! It truly changed my life

I was always the one for a unwashed spoon or knife Blush I think I just got bored washing up and couldn’t be bothered
