Finished all 8 series of House last night and feeling a little depressed about it.

Anyone else feel like this when you finish a long running show?

If so, what series made you feel like that?

I don't watch all those series that everyone seem to get hooked on, especially the American ones but I watched both series of ' 'No offence' (British) and was gutted when they were finished.
I just hope there is another series.

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 15:33

Yes to Jane the Virgin, @NoLeslie! I can't wait for the next season, though its going to be the last. ☹

isseywithcats · 23/08/2018 15:34

i have handmaids tale withdrawal symptoms already hoping there will be another even though series 2 and after goes further than the book did

LaGattaNera · 23/08/2018 15:37

I am still mourning the premature loss of ITV's Home Fires and hoping for a 4th series of Red Rock

RibbonAurora · 23/08/2018 15:38

Buffy, Breaking Bad, Sopranos! Dreading the end of TBBT next year and GOT (if we ever get there) which reminds me I'm the same with some books. I really want to get to the end but I don't want the end to ever come and often when I'm almost there I start rereading from the beginning to delay the inevitable.

IWantMyHatBack · 23/08/2018 15:39

Always. I get overly invested and tend to watch just one series at a time.

Six Feet Under was a big one (and such a good ending).

The end of Sons of Anarchy was traumatic, and that song stayed in my head for days.

Parks and Rec isn't a problem. I'll start it over again in a few weeks Grin

Sobbed at the end of The Bridge though. I'm waiting a few months and then I'll binge the whole lot in one go.

MasonJar · 23/08/2018 15:48

I felt bereft when I finished Breaking Bad, never seen anything as good as that. So I watched it all again Smile. Enjoyed it just as much.

SorryNotSorry · 23/08/2018 15:49

I actually cried at the end of Parks and Recs it was like saying goodbye to good friends

justpoppngby · 23/08/2018 15:55

I was also very sad after finishing parks & rec, that was perfect tv, cast & scripts combining in fabulousness. I felt like I had lost several friends in one go 😢

Macaronibaloni · 23/08/2018 15:56

Yes!

Sense 8
Jane the Virgin
Pretty Little Liars
Gossip Girl
Zoo

^ so sad when I come to the end of the series 💔

MissConductUS · 23/08/2018 15:57

It was bloody awful when I'd exhausted Foyle's War. How could I cope without Sam?

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 23/08/2018 16:00

Yes! Boardwalk empire, breaking bad and Ackley Bridge.

BigLass9 · 23/08/2018 16:04

Yes if we have really enjoyed it

MrsLandingham · 23/08/2018 16:04

NoLeslie has Designated Survivor finished? I got six or seven episodes into series 2 and lost interest - thought the twists and turns were becoming a bit silly. If there aren't that many more episodes I'll watch them to find out how it finished.

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 23/08/2018 16:08

Not at the end of a series but I have at the end of the show itself.

I often wait until a new season is about to start before binging the one before so I'm not going to be too disappointed in it.

I'm currently binging SPN season 12.

cardibach · 23/08/2018 16:08

Silversun definitely Firefly! So sad it’s so short, but then it’s just thi she perfect little gem...
Still miss them all though.

sulflower · 23/08/2018 16:16

Yep. Felt gutted when suits ended but the worse one was Outlander as I got a bit obsessed.

On a recent local weekend away we decided to immerse ourselves in some culture. Every single place we went to had been a filming location for Outlander, we had no idea as we had never watched it. So we decided we really needed to see what the fuss was about and have just started watching it! It's certainly a big tourist draw for Scotland. We came away from 'Castle Leoch' clutching a filming locations map Grin. Or it you watch GoT, 'Winterfell''.

RedRosie · 23/08/2018 17:16

I am very old and you young 'uns won't know what I'm talking about.

But there are hundreds of episodes of Hill Street Blues and St Elsewhere available on All4.

And I loved Parks and Rec so much - I'm very jealous of anyone seeing it for the first time.

imnotreally · 23/08/2018 17:24

Yes especially if I've binge watched.

ForalltheSaints · 23/08/2018 17:27

Perfectly normal if you have enjoyed it, perhaps more so when binge watching.

thecraicismightierthanthesword · 23/08/2018 20:56

I finished West Wing & the last Harry Potter book at around the same time... I was distraught!

Foofer · 23/08/2018 21:13

Firefly was gutting but I was late to it so knew beforehand there was only one season. At least they got the serenity movie (saw it first, love it)

Parks and recreation I didn't want to end but it was lovely and on their own terms.

Timeless cancelled twice but through fan outcry they are getting a two hour finale to wrap things up. I hope for more though, highly recommend it.

Saddest for me is Agent Carter. Really enjoyed it and cancelled after season 2 on a cliff hanger. Hate it when the creators don't get enough warning to end things for the fans (and themselves for that matter!)

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 23/08/2018 21:34

Felt that way after The Sopranos Sad

And The Wire. The Montage had me in tears poor poor Dukie 😭

MrsPeacockDidIt · 23/08/2018 21:39

Me and DH mourn Sons of Anarchy and back in the day Battlestar Gallactica. I’m desperately waiting for DS to be old enough to watch Buffy so I can watch that all over again and then Angel.

HRTpatch · 23/08/2018 21:40

Boardwalk Empire. Richard Sad
