AIBU or are the ladies loos always disgusting

I can be in some really nice restaurants or some really shitty pubs but one thing I always find are that the toilets are utterly disgusting! Whether that be toilet roll on the floor or an over whelming smell but I can’t be the only one to notice!

Thank goodness I'm not the only one - I have dreams about dirty toilets too

We do a lot of camping and my husband can't even bear to use the men's toilets they get in such a disgusting state.

I have to say I have never found the ladies to be unbearable but might be because any smell is covered by hairspray and perfume as usually showers and toilets are in the same place.

Public facilities I have found to not be cleaned enough - presumably because of cost. And I guess young people who work in such places may not have been brought up to clean toilets at home.

Yup some ladies can be fucking gross.

You have to be a special kind of person to leave shit, piss and blood about the toilet, seat, walls, floor... but some people seem to love doing that.

I have a theory about this. I think a fair amount of it in ladies toilets is caused by children. If I send my son in to have a wee without me being present I can guarantee he will see on the seat, not flush the chain and not wash his hands (he is five and I prefer him to use the ladies over the gents when we are out). I try and make sure I’m with him but sometimes I just can’t because of the pushchair and i know he will leave the toilet in a mess.

This obviously doesn’t explain work toilets but I bet it explains a lot of public toilets.

The last thread i read about this, it was suggested that it's squeamish hoverers that end up spraying urine and worse everywhere. If everyone would just sit properly on the seat they wouldn't be half so dirty

I am always shocked if I go in a public loo and it’s clean because I agree most of the time they are disgusting. Particularly grim when next to the filthy loo is an overflowing sanitary bin and the MN favourite a poo encrusted toilet brush..........

An overflowing sanitary bin and poo encrusted toilet brush suggests a lack of regular cleaning though really.

I try not to use toilets whilst out.
Too many minging ones everywhere.
Although we have a large shopping centre nearby which is usually ok. Even if you open the door and find a gross cubicle, there are 20 more to choose from!

I once did an evening class which was held in the lecture rooms of a major teaching hospital. During the day they were used by trainee doctors. The toilets were absolutely disgusting......

I also have the blocked and overflowing toilet dream.......
