AIBU or are the ladies loos always disgusting

I can be in some really nice restaurants or some really shitty pubs but one thing I always find are that the toilets are utterly disgusting! Whether that be toilet roll on the floor or an over whelming smell but I can’t be the only one to notice!

I'm sick to the back teeth of women who don't flush in public loos.

What goes through their mind?! "Ooh that was a pretty wee, I think I'll leave it for someone else to admire too!"?

And it's it a broken toilet because I just came along and flushed it!!

I have found some disgusting ones, I think this is down to them not being cleaned regularly, rather than poor hygiene of customers. I think all public toilets are a bit dirty, but are passable to be used quickly.

I have worked in offices where used tampons have been left in a pile on the floor next to the loo, period blood and wee left on the pan, used shitty loo roll all over the floor. Utterly disgusting and some of these places were 'posh' law firms.

Luckily, I never go to places with loos like that anymore, but I remember once laughing long and hard over a sign at our (then) local train station that said: "Please leave the toilet in the same state as you want to find it", as it would have taken me at least half an hour and some industrial grade cleaning fluids to get the toilet to that state.

I used to work in a lively city centre pub at the end of a hectic sat night the ladies were always worse than the gents.

I don’t know why toilets are designed in the way they are so you have to basically squat over the bowl just to get the door closed

I work at the train station as a cleaner and I'd rather clean the men's all day long!

I have managed to get period blood on the seat myself more times than I care to mention but I always mop it up.

I remember the toilets at school, someone once shit all over the walls and floor... I still to this day have no idea how. Some girls used to stick their dirty sanitary towels onto the cubicle walls too 🤢

Where on earth do you PPs live?! I’ve been to many loos in restaurants, cafes, shopping malls and airports in my 63 years, and I’ve only once found a dirty one - at Edinburgh airport, over 15 years ago! Most modern independent restaurants have immaculate loos. Even my local Tesco has beautifully refurbished loos with no touch flush and no touch basin taps.
On a recent visit to Romania, I was impressed with the state of the art bathrooms in hotels and tourist venues, even cable car stations.
Have I just been lucky?

I have that dream! I often have to go down stairs to get to the toilets and they're all filthy. Really weird

Ladies toilets are awful. We’ve had shit up the walls in a recent one!

I have rarely experienced this although a Costa I went into recently was so bad that I left. Generally I find them pretty good.

When I was a domestic in a hospital the ladies toilets were always left in a state. Toilet roll every where and stains but the male toilet was always clean and tidy.

National trust toilets are usually very clean and tidy worst are supermarket loos

I wish I was as lucky as some who have encountered one or none. I just don’t get it, I couldn’t leave a toilet in the state I’ve found them

Hospital toilets are distressingly awful. Both the visitor ones and the ones on all the wards I've been on. As if being in hospital isn't bad enough.

Also have that dream! It's so distressing finding cubicle after cubicle in a vile overflowing state.

The absolute worst toilets I've found have been in France and Italy in quite nice restaurants - makes it hard to eat there once you've seen the bathroom.

One of my worst toilet memories was at primary school when some filthy girl had left half a shit on top of the pan. 🤢

Depends where go to be honest.

The places I go to are great. Normally have deodorant, perfume, nice hand wash. Ect.. rota ok the door for when it’s been done. To be fair my local Asda is spotless and smells of coconut.

You lot must be working in and visiting some right shit holes...

However I have seen blood in a toilet. Because women menstruate. Accidents happen.

SleepWarrior I get the overflowing cubicle thing too in my dreams. And I usually have to walk for ages to get to said unusable loos, usually against some kind of time pressure.

I feel very reassured there are a few of us with similar dream experiences yet I've never seen it explained in dream books which I know are bollocks anyway

I spent many years as a cleaner to lots of different places from pubs to offices to private homes. Women's toilets are ALWAYS disgusting. No matter what type of place what type of people or what age.

My mum has also been a cleaner for about twenty years and agrees.
