To worry that hoovering the bathroom is unhygienic

I have a guy painting my bathroom today and when I came back from the shops he was hoovering the floor where he'd been doing some sanding.

AIBU to feel a bit squeamish at the thought of hoovering my kitchen and the rest of the house with a hoover that's been used near where the toilet's been flushed?

Unless you have a disinfectant walk through on the way to and from your bathroom then you already walk your bathroom's bacteria through your house. I have to confess, however, that we don't have carpeting and all of our floor surfaces are hard and washable. And, I clean the pipes of our vacuum cleaner and wash the permanent filters. But I live in an area of high pollution.

If you're really bothered, you can wipe the wheels and the underneath of the hoover with some dettox or similar on a paper towel.

Happyhippy, Because brushes retain bits in the bristles and it's best practice to have completely different implements for those environments, where hygiene and avoiding cross-contamination are critical. At home, you don't need the same standards because it's a limited amount of people whereas commercial and hospital premises have a hugely different scale of risk.
