Aibu to be worried about my 5yo dad having hairy legs?

She has very blonde (gold even!) but very thick hairy legs. I just don’t get it. I’m not a hairy person at all (I maybe shave my legs once a month when they get prickly? I have no visible arm hair) so I find it worrying. Is it something to worry about or can it be normal?

My four year old has hairy legs and a bit if hair on his back. I don't think it'd all that unusual. Do you have any other reason to believe that she has a hormonal imbalance?

True drink Wink

Perfectly normal.

I used to have very thick, long, black hair on my legs and I have quite fair skin. Where I'm from (Mediterranean country) it's super common. We used to have upper lip hair and thick eyebrows as well which was horrible Blush.

Totally normal. Does anyone really care before secondary school? I was a super hairy as a child. One boy mentioned it. I told him that I don't care and he declared me cool. One girl used her "lady shave", but I thought that sounded like hassle!
No-one ever picked on me.
My mum taught me to shave before secondary.
I had no early puberty or hormonal issues, it's just how I am. I'm still very hairy, as is DS. I still don't care Grin

My 3.8 year old dd has quite dark (velvety soft) hair on her legs and the top of her back, she's had the hair on her back since she was a baby and it's never gone away but the leg hair is something new. Im not worried about it tbh, I just assumed it was because she hair dark hair and olive skin and I'm quite hairy too
But saying that, I don't ever remember having hair on my legs when I was younger, I think I started shaving when I was around 14 and thats when I noticed it.. it's probably just the case that it wasn't something I cared to notice until then though?? 🤷‍♀️

All of mine had hairy shoulders/upper back and legs until they were 4-6ish. One still has slightly fuzzy legs at 9 (she likes bragging hers are hairier than her older sister's legs), but the rest of it all faded around then and even my giant teenager still has very little on his legs or arms yet.

Unless there are other signs of early puberty, I think it will likely fade and even if not, not be a big deal until possibly secondary and not to worry about it unless it becomes an issue. Of the things mine have been picked on for, none of them have yet to be picked on for their body hair. Stammer, head hair length, chicken pox scars/spots, accent, being too tall, being too small, their sex, and other things but not body hair. You really can't control or even really predict what other kids will have an issue with.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone.
