AIBU to successfully lose a stone by Christmas?

I've just weighed myself for the 1st time since March and shockingly have put on half a stone! I had wanted to lose half a stone at the time but somehow managed to gain an extra half so now weigh 9 1/2 stone, I have a total of 1 stone to lose to get back to my usual weight of 8 1/2 stone. I'm 5ft 3 inches with a small build so any extra pounds do not suit me at all.... btw my clothes still fit as usual.... funnily enough I started exercising at home in March using light weights on arms, doing the plank and basic floor exercises so could this extra weight be muscle weight as my upper arms are firm or am I just kidding myself??!! I'm not a gym person but walk 3 miles about 3 times a week but less recently with school holidays etc.... so AIBU to actually lose 1 stone healthily by Christmas as have a few special occasions coming up? If anyone can enlighten me with nutrition and exercise advice then I'd love to hear from you.... I'm also interested to hear from anyone who managed to reach their target weight without starving themselves in the process!! FYI I'm not a breakfast person (toast mainly) but eat a healthy lunch and always cook a healthy dinner for us all but I snack a bit between meals (crisps and biscuits!!) as I often feel hungry 😋 TIA

Forget about fad diets.

Just cut out the unhealthy snacks and sugary drinks - water is much better for you. Stick to a small amount of fish and lean meat - no cheese and nothing fried - fill up on lots of healthy salad and vegetables, add some fruit and you'll easily lose a stone before Christmas.

I agree with avoiding fad diets. Just reduce your portion sizes, have half a biscuit or slice if cake instead of a full one, put a few chips on your plate instead of a big pile and basically try and steal back calories here and there throughout the day. That way you can very easily cut 300-400 calories a day which, combined with a bit of exercise will see the weight come off and your appetite become accustomed to more healthy servings.

Vandrew, you're basically saying don't eat much at all and you'll lose weight
ha ha, yes I guess i am. Works for me!

UPDATE!!

Well during the last month I've cut out unhealthy snacking altogether, stuck to 3 healthy meals per day, reduced carbs a little, healthy snacks are fruit, veg and unsalted nuts, on the exercise front I've been walking very briskly most days and I've managed to lose 5 pounds!! I'm thrilled and the good thing is my appetite adjusted after the about the 1st week so I'm not craving salty, fatty or sugary stuff at 3pm..... so it can be done and I'm definitely going to stick to this new way of life!!
