To have cried because I'm hungry

Mouseville65 · 12/08/2018 14:41

(Light hearted)

Ok ok its not really that I'm hungry, more so that DP ate my lunch, which he shared with DSS because they were hungry but gave absolutely no thought what so ever to the fact I may be hungry too.

In the grand scheme of things this is soooo silly but I had a tantrum and I cried!

DP is currently at the shop buying me something tasty to eat ... it better be good 🤣

Please cheer me up by sharing your adult tantrums :)

@KickAssAngel that is hilarious 😂

My friend had a similar reaction to contraception, she was giving me a lift to work and pulled over, burst into tears, I am chest heaving sobbing. When she finally calmed down I asked what had happened and she replied .... 'my housemate didn't say good morning to me' 🤣🤣🤣

ye sorry I know it was lighthearted..but honestly crying from hunger really isn't that amusing.
I am not going to derail your thread further with my sad story.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:21

Yes people who can afford food don't get hungry. is that really a controversial statement?

MyDirtyLittleSecret · 12/08/2018 15:23

FourFriedChickens I'm sorry you are suffering from food deprivation whatever the cause, but clearly the thread is lighthearted. We are all aware there are people starving in the world and families struggling to feed their children. In the same way, when people are bitching about the state of their homes, that we are aware there are homeless people out there and, when bitching about our DMs, that some have lost their DMs.

Mouseville65 · 12/08/2018 15:23

@DrFoxtrot in answer to your question it was only enough to feed a hungry adult or if only pekish an adult and child could share. My DP and DSS have been in town all morning though so when we discussed going food shopping this morning my DP said 'don't worry we will eat whilst we are out' so I wasn't concerned about sharing .... hindsight has taught me to eat before they get home 🤣

Yes people who can afford food don't get hungry.

They might not get as hungry, but I was hungry before I ate my dinner.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:24

I know, I know..

Passthecake30 · 12/08/2018 15:25

About 25 years ago, I helped mil prepare lunch for the 3 lazy men around her house that day. Took in a nice steaming plate of sausage rolls and went back to make tea for all said lazy men.

When I went back, every sonngle sodding sausage roll was gone.

let's just say that we all learnt a lesson that day, they are ati scared of me to this day Grin

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:25

PurpleDaisies, are you taking the piss?

OftenHangry · 12/08/2018 15:26

YANBU 😂

badtime · 12/08/2018 15:27

FourFried, it's not only controversial, it is nonsensical. Just because you can afford food doesn't mean you have food, or access to food. Consider the non-feeding in-laws on the thread in chat.

PurpleDaisies · 12/08/2018 15:27

No, I’m saying that people do experience hunger. I’d been for a ten mile run and I was really hungry (bordering on dizzy) before I ate.

I’m really sorry for your situation but you can’t just assert that nobody who can afford to eat knows what it means to be hungry.

MyDirtyLittleSecret · 12/08/2018 15:28

FFCDWT for someone who wasn't going to derail the thread further...well, you know the rest.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:29

" Consider the non-feeding in-laws on the thread in chat."
indeed I did see that thread - didn't the DH go out and buy some bread and cheese?

PurpleDaisies, you literally have not got a clue.

PurpleDaisies · 12/08/2018 15:31

No, you are talking nonsense four. How can you tell me I wasn’t hungry? You don’t know me. You don’t inhabit my body.

BMW6 · 12/08/2018 15:31

I am confused.
I can afford food, have lots of food to hand.
I get hungry - so then I eat. Or if I am trying to lose weight I will stay hungry for a few hours.

So to state "people who can afford food don't get hungry" is simply wrong.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:32

oh FFS, you chose to go out for a run before your big dinner. My heart bleeds for you.

PurpleDaisies · 12/08/2018 15:33

I’m not saying I needed sympathy for my state of hunger, just that I experienced it.

I don’t know why you’re being so aggressively blind on this issue.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:33

whatever - is everyone on this forum so middle class/pampered that their idea of being hungry is when they are trying to reduce their flab or have been for a run.?

Jesus.

OftenHangry · 12/08/2018 15:33

@FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast
I understand you are in tough situation, but that doesn't mean people can't joke about things. You don't find it funny, you don't have to engage. Simple as that. I am sorry you are not ok, but this is lighthearted thread. If you want to discuss seriousness of lack of food and lack of finances for food, you are more than welcome to start your own thread. And you should because you can get so much amazing advice on how to deal with it and make it little bit better.

BMW6 · 12/08/2018 15:34

I am really hungry right now, but won't be having dinner till 6.30.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 12/08/2018 15:35

OK you are right, thanks. I honestly opened this thread because I thought someone was in food poverty.

PurpleDaisies · 12/08/2018 15:35

You don’t know me. You don’t know what I’ve bern through in my life.

You don’t get to tell people that they have not experienced hunger. That’s a supremely arrogant position to take.

I feel tearful when hungry all the time, especially when tired too. I'm getting very little sleep ATM so when hunger strikes there's no fucking around if a tantrum is to be avoided.
