To be fed up of colleague talking about her holiday?

That happened 4 years ago!

She even got me over to her computer to show me her itinerary Hmm

I can be happy for people and when they come back from holiday I of course want to hear about it, see photos etc

BUT when they’ve been banging on about it for the 2 years I’ve kmown them and it wasn’t even recent then, aibu to just want to scream - shut up already!

My colleagues don't talk excessively about holidays they've been on, but about ones they are planning - I get shown links on mobile phones a lot. They never go on the holidays they research on their phones, but they all go on other less expensive holidays fairly regularly. It's a bit odd.

I'm bored of looking at websites advertising beachfront AI in the Caribbean or Harley Davidson hire in California or motorhome tours of Sweden, but I don't hear much about the actual holidays in Greece, Italy and Croatia except for the standard it was great except for the flight delays/ traffic jams/ minor slightly comical disaster of some kind accompanied by a couple of photos.

Next time she mentions it just turn to others, roll your eyes and mutter softly “not this holiday shite again”, and the titters of your colleagues should put her back up for a while (unless you work in one of these ultra poliltically correct places where such conduct will get you an HR warning.)

Wtf OP what a pointless thread?? Biscuit

Unihorn · 14/08/2018 21:13

I assume it's Orlando. I talk about my holidays to Disney all the time. As a PP has said, there's normally a Florida addict (or several) in every workplace.

ForalltheSaints · 14/08/2018 21:20

Four days would be about right, but four years is really excessive. I mentioned seeing Geraint Thomas four years ago on the day after he won the Tour de France, but have not mentioned it since.

How thrilling.

Unihorn · 15/08/2018 19:46

BasilFaulty
Only to people who are interested. The holiday industry in Orlando is worth millions. It's hardly surprising.

Was it Pontins?
Seriously OP you don't seem very nice. Why can't your colleague talk about something that makes her happy? You sound jealous. It obviously has special memories for her. You might bang on about something she feels bored by.
This is a wind up thread. After asking everyone for their opinion you refuse to say the destination in case it outs you despite it being a usual place to go according to you Hmm

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 17/08/2018 07:16

It could've been Great Yarmouth but I'm not sure as I spent too much time lying on the floor and simultaneously stamping my feet, which is quite an achievement Grin.

KatieKittens · 17/08/2018 08:32

It would be no skin off my nose. She sounds dull, but each to their own. Smile, nod, get on with your day.

Why does it matter to you?
