Or ask that dh leaves it to me to do (I don't mind doing it all if needs be).

Apparently this is too much to ask. Currently clothes beung ruined bybwashing together.

I wonder if all those people declaring they never separate a washing load are the same people who swear their houses don't smell of dog and that no one knows they smoke because they neck a couple of polo mints now and again

I don't have a dog so no.

In this day and age unless the items are new and dyed you don't need to separate stuff.

OK it won't kill you having greyish white stuff.... BUT others WILL judge you...
It can look unkempt... Especially if you're adult in a customer /patient facing role.
