If we're going books then Benvolio. (I am convinced that he was meant to be in the play through our as there is another B character who comes in, as Romeo's companion, just when Benvolio leaves. Screams the need to show in a small part for someone....) Anyway Benvolio seems sweet wanting the best but putting his foot in his mouth and getting carried away when he tried to do the right thing. And not homicidal. The actor in the Baz Luhrmann version isn't bad either. In that, no where else. And in that version Tybolt is not painful on the eyes but sadly homicidal.
