Would you like to vent about a neighbour? (light-hearted)

Whilst most of the UK is enjoying sunny weather, most of us are spending more time outside. I love to hear neighbours having fun outside to an extent, however I have a near-neighbour whose very distinctive, booming voice (talking and singing) can be heard far and wide, often until after 11pm weekdays due to the warm evenings. I would love to hear of your good/not-so-good experiences of spending time outside this summer so far....

I adore my neighbour. I have been in my house for almost 20 years and they have been here around 24.

The parents moved overseas a few years ago leaving their (lucky) grown up kids in the house. Kids are really lovely and I never hear them. Parents have been back recently and extended family have been staying, and with this heat all we hear is the mum chatting in her booming voice. Love her, she's lovely but glad she no longer lives here full time. Even 10yo DD commented on the loud voice.

They always buy us little gifts when they come back Grin

My NDN calls the police regularly to complain about my children's 435g missiles (footballs); called planning about my high level observation tower (play equipment) and put in a malicious noise complaint about my noise making equipment (my then 2 and 3 year old boys). I haven't yet found the right department to ring, myself, to complain about his monthly display of 35 pairs of matching underpants that he hangs out to dry all in one go. My other neighbours are lovely, fortunately.

Neighbours attached - husband constantly watching any and every game of football in the known universe, loudly, every day. Wife constantly coughing all night through thin walls, to the point where I am genuinely concerned for the state of her lungs.

Opposite, shared drive - sort out the bloody fence you promised to re-instate 3 years ago when you moved in! Instead of leaving it as a total eyesore in the hope we will give in and replace it - it isn't our fence, it's yours, but you spend zero time in your garden so it's not a problem to you, grrr!

@WontBeUsingPassMyParcelAgain Urghh bypassing the absurdity of his complaints, people who waste police time like that drive me nuts. Bet he rings 999 too!

Please help the poor kitty if you can AlonsoTigerHeart . I hate to think of the poor thing hungry, and in this weather, possibly thirsty. Poor thing has done no wrong. If he's not microchipped could you take him/her to your local cats protection/RSPCA and say they are a stray?

Just read more of the thread. Thank you for helping AlonsoTigerHeart . I hope the cat trust you soon. Smile

Last night some poor chap was getting shouted at by his female partner, she yelled and screamed like a banshee whilst he answered quietly - would love to know what he had done, she was so shouty that you couldn't hear actual words IYSWIM.

Meanwhile, Canadian Dom Joly loudmouth is gobbing off in his garden now so can't even concentrate on reading or enjoying my fab new ginger and rhubarb gin. He does actually have a lovely voice, just annoyingly loud. PMT so every tiny thing is grating on me. Promise I'm not usually this grumpy. From some of your stories, I have got off lightly. Anything animal makes me so cross, really hope you rescue that poor kitten. x

re cannabis smoking in lower flat - I think you need to water your plants - regularly - on your balcony whether you have them or not :)
