To just want a pair of fucking jeans

That
•Don't have gigantic holes in
•End at a decent place around the ankle- if I want 3/4 length ones I'd buy them
•Are wide enough at the bottoms that I can actually get my feet through (I'm a size 5 so not particularly big)
•If possible, have pockets! What really gets my goat is when they have fake pockets. I couldn't give a crap if it LOOKS like I have pockets, I want somewhere to put my phone.

I've just got back from a morning of trapising around the shops looking for a pair of jeans. I didn't find a SINGLE PAIR that met the criteria. I try to buy online these days, but 9 out of ten times they don't fit and I have to send them back so I prefer to try them on first.

I hate ripped jeans with a passion. I have a pair off ASOS that are my go to's, bought them a couple of times

I get Next, Gap or Boden jeans off ebay - the older they are, the less shitey fashion nonsense, and they're often unworn or barely worn. Usually around £10 so if they don't turn out to be a good fit it's not a disaster, but I now know what will work from experience.

I haven't gone into a shop and bought new jeans for years. Just too annoying.

Tesco?

Sainsburys jeans are fantastic. Have had far more compliments wearing them than any other brand - and they have a choice of different cuts (straight, skinny, bootcut, etc) plus theres a more expensive one usually plus jeggings. And they're cheap, have stretch in, wear well and are comfortable

They had some great lightweight ones this year and I managed to get blue denim and black, whereas usually I get there and there is nothing left between 8 and 20 ! Cut properly as well, most of their other trousers are cut with a waist the same size as the hips, across all sizes.

I like Gap for jeans

AntsMarching · 02/08/2018 16:30

Pricey, but you only need one or two pairs of jeans. And as they are proper denim, they’ll last years and years.

Hiut Jeans

These from George. Cheap as chips but fit well (I'm curvy to say the least) and very comfy.

Sainsbury's jeans can be really good. Also Uniqlo (but some styles have v shallow pockets). I got some nice Mom jeans from TopShop the other week.

I’ve just bought some Sainsbo girlfriend jeans. Sized dowN and they are like relaxed skinny. Don’t hug your calves tightly and make you feel sweaty. I love them

Iwantaunicorn · 02/08/2018 16:36

Gap are my ultimate favourite jeans, but M&S provided the perfect jeans for me after my csection.

If buying from gap, do sign up for their newsletter, they routinely send me 30-50% discount codes on both full and sale price items which can be used online or in store.

Next did a lovely pair of 100% cotton straight legged jeans. Love them I have two pairs.

LighthouseSouth · 02/08/2018 16:40

have you had a look on Zalando? You can do loads of filters on there to get the selection to what you need.

purplegreen99 · 02/08/2018 16:42

I like Next slim fit jeans, the ones with a fairly high waist. They're only about £22 but the oldest ones I've had for about 10 years, so they seem to last pretty well and they do a wide range of sizes and lengths. I recently bought some in a similar style from M&S that are also very comfortable. Both types have real pockets. I'd order several sizes online and return the ones that don't fit - much easier than trying to find the right size in a shop.

Try And/Or, it's John Lewis premium denim line. Proper denim and pockets. About £100 a pair, but considerably cheaper than 7forallmankind that I also buy. I get the Silverlake ones.

Verbena87 · 02/08/2018 16:46

I now only buy vintage men’s Levi’s, for these exact reasons. I get them in Soho’s on Bold Street in Liverpool (even though I no longer live there). Will never go back to stretchy throw-away ‘women don’t want actual clothes’ jeans again.

Cutesbabasmummy · 02/08/2018 16:47

I have 2 pairs of lovely Boden ones. I love them.
