Wibu not to reverse

Blue cars are parked, mine is the green car and the ‘trainee driving instructor’ is the red car. He yelled that no one has right of way when cars are parked and I should reverse all the way back as he had priority. I wasn’t wrong, was I? Arrow are just to show direction.

If no-one has right ifo way, why should he have priority? And you've gone further through the obstructed region than he has!

I would not have reversed either

• the obstruction is on his side of the road
• you had started the manoeuvre before him

Going on the pavement should not really be considered as an option.

Being a driving instructor does not automatically make him right - I was following one the other day that went in the left hand of two lanes, when going right (3rd junction) on a round about. Lane markings clearly say left had land is to go left or straight on only. He didn't indicate either.

This 'trainee driving instructor' doesn't know their Highway Code.

Rule 163: ...You should give way to oncoming vehicles before passing parked vehicles or other obstructions on your side of the road...
