Aibu saying people on mn are batshit crazy. The world is gonna implode after britexit. Porn makes men rubbish at sex. If you make a comment disagreeing with an op post when you are in the minority you are a troll. Has everyone lost their common sense? Why does everything have to be do extreame ?

OP posts:
Dontknowwhatimdoing · 31/07/2018 15:19

Are you batshit crazy then OP, because you appear to be on MN? Or is it just everyone else?

SlartiAardvark · 31/07/2018 15:22

Some people on here have a sense of humour.

A hell of a lot don't however and are often so far up their own arses they haven't seen daylight for years - hence the mass panic when anything threatens the equilibrium of their rectal havens....

bellinisurge · 31/07/2018 15:22

Anyone see the thread about the rogue bat in someone's house? That was a good one if you weren't dealing with a rogue bat in your house

DiagramFan · 31/07/2018 15:24

Diagram?

ethelfleda · 31/07/2018 15:24

It's not just mn. It's the internet in general. And many people in real life actually. Everyone want a something to be offended by so they can clutch their pearls or shout 'oh poor me, someone looked at me funny - feel sorry for me'
Getting a little sick of it myself actually, OP.

ethelfleda · 31/07/2018 15:25

I like this. I'm going to use this.

Scoopofchaff · 31/07/2018 15:27

Yes, what Akkakk said!

CeridwensCottage · 31/07/2018 15:34

I’m sick of people being phobic about everything. They must go around in a complete state of bawling hysteria all the time Confused scared of tiny insects, animals, birds, plants, grass etc.

CeridwensCottage · 31/07/2018 15:36

Here you go, here’s a tree for everyone to be triggered by Grin

Welcome to MN @Berniethecrabisthebest Grin
You're going to need this if you are sticking around or you will be torn apart. Or Chambers , we don't really mind which publisher you prefer. Smile

Quimby · 31/07/2018 15:38

It’s a fairly innocuous trope but it’s my favourite mn one.

Any interaction between a poster and their partner which involves any level of silliness, frivolity or juvenile play (tickling, nicknames, silly voices, stupid in joke) is taken to be a microcosm of the person as a whole and is enough to write them, their relationship and their partner off as immature and pathetic.

Lethaldrizzle · 31/07/2018 15:39

Liz70 - love that word!

haribosmarties · 31/07/2018 15:40

Go to netmums if you want kind advice about parenting matters.

Mumsnet is fun because of the batshit people!

GahWhatever · 31/07/2018 15:40

Chortling at 'rectal havens' Grin

Zoflorabore · 31/07/2018 15:40

I stumbled across the other place before finding this place and I was petrified at first.

Now? I fit in very nicely :)

I think my dp is jealous of MN, he says "oh what you doing zoflo? On Mumsbloodynet again? " this is my safe haven to be ME.

Welcome op Grin

Many mnetters would take great exception to any accusation of frequenting a "rectal haven"! Grin

Momo18 · 31/07/2018 15:51

*Because posters on Mumsnet fall into one of two categories:

  • minority: genuine people there to help each other and use it as a means of sharing ideas etc.
  • majority: people who feel somehow bigger by having this persona online where everything they say is authoritative, and where they are always right - you will notice from their wording that it is always absolutes - they extrapolate their small insignificant experience into patterns that define the world*

Yes I agree with this by pp. It reminds me of school tbh. I've spoken to some lovely people on here but there are quite a few wanting a stab at been top dog again. Quite childish really.

buckeejit · 31/07/2018 15:51

Also people have real concerns about Brexit but I somewhat agree as I don't like the hysteria.

Porn has many negatives , grown men can do what they want, however I am concerned about the affect porn has on young people and their expectations of sex. As well as the level of PTSD & suicide suffered by sex workers.

strawberrisc · 31/07/2018 15:59

Ah. School holidays again.

UkulelesAndFirepits · 31/07/2018 15:59

I do think porn makes men shit at sex. That's probably the most extreme view I've ever expressed on here. It's based on my experience. Other people might have had other experiences or have lower expectations of sex or any disagree with me for any other number of reasons.

But that's my experience.

Inadequate; dull; lazy; disengaged; rough; painful; impersonal; soulless; empty; technically precise; varied; lacking in connection are all words/phrases that come to mind when I recall sex with porn users. Fun, intimate and satisfying are not in there. Those are the most important aspects of sex for me.

Other people might think differently.

abilockhart · 31/07/2018 16:00

The empty-headed don't have a care in the world.

UkulelesAndFirepits · 31/07/2018 16:01

And the people I know in real life know I hold this opinion.

I had a very interesting conversation with a male friend of mine who is a prolific porn user and was quite offended. Apparently, he is "very good at sex".

Lovely.

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 31/07/2018 16:05

I'll...be honest, I'm just waiting for someone to correct your spelling. Grin

crunchymint · 31/07/2018 16:07

People have different opinions. In real life most people mix with others with similar types of opinions. In my circles being anti porn is normal.
